I battled lyme for 18 years before I knew what I was dealing with. Back in the the mid to late '90s I thought I had Candida. I was cleansing a lot and doing the diet (which probably helped me a lot).
I remember one day speaking to a coworker who I considered very intelligent about my diet and herbs and health issues. He was really open minded and smart, so I figured he'd understand. I shared that I was going to do a fast and use certain herbs because I thought I had some sort of parasites and I wanted to get rid of them. He looked at me like I was nuts and told me there was no way people in this country would have parasites. I remember his reaction was so strong I stopped talking about it to him. He was going on like only people in third world countries could have parasites and I had gone off the deep end.
I didn't listen to him, I just stopped discussing stuff with him.
I did do many cleanses back then and I think I managed to clean a lot out. I was running blind since there was so little help.
I think parasites are much more rampant then most of us realize and it's sad that our medical doctors have little to no understanding of how to diagnose or treat them.
