I just wanted to know how you are coping with this heat?

Being British,this heat wave(35C) is doing me in ,in the UK, summer usually consists of 2 weeks either in July or August smilewinkgrin

At the moment I'm either slurping huge amounts of liquids......sweating.....or showering.

Well, I was doing kind of ok - it must have been funny to see me move in slow motion... I'm off work for 2 weeks, so I was just ridin' the heat wave - lol

I think I drank about 4 liters per day, 3 showers/day...

We had severe rain these last 2 days - woke up this morning with the kitchen flooded...

And then 3 days ago, I had a sore throat, stuffed nose... and it went downwards very quickly. Almost took off to the ER last night - couldn't breath... was squaeking like an old door. Me thinking 'it's just the quality of air' is the only thing that kept me home, and the fact that I just didn't have the energy to make it there (hubby is off to visit his family abroad). I just made an appointment with the dr on call later this pm - I think I might have a good old bronchitis... yay for hot weather and airconditioning in shops...

We're not used to this heat...

did you have the thunderstorms coming by? You might in the upcoming hours, it's coming from our side, I hope there is some left for you tongue

We've got a rain forecast for tomorrow :-)

It rained for 5 minutes on Wednesday, 15 mins on Thursday and.......drum roll 2 mins yesterday,blink and you missed it,LOL

I'm sorry you're feeling grotty,there is alot of summer flu around at the moment,I think I couldn't catch a cold if I tried,I don't have enough fluid in my body.

I forgot to ask,were you badly flooded?

I know lots about flooding,sadly,living about 100 metres away from a medium sized river, means we get fllooded with depressing regularity.

I suppose I could always take a dip in the river if things get desperate,but who knows what lovely bugs are waiting for me there,better not tempt fate.

That's not much rain... I think it evaporates before it touches the ground - lol

you could sit by the river and put your feet in the water? Or is the riverside not suited for this? I Always think of horrible parasites when swimming in a river - lol

No, not badly flooded... there were some flooded streets, but on the other side of town.
