Hi Healing 98,
Sorry to see that no one has responded to your post. I think at times it is all one could do is to cope. I know some days I do the bare minimum to get by!
I think it would help me to get involved in advocacy and I think your ideas are fabulous.
I wish that we could meet. I know that when people are having a hard day and I feel well, I could help them with their needs.
Where I live there seems to be only 1 support group and they only meet about 8 times a year.
Maybe you have heard Dr. Jemsk(sp) speak. He was in Cal. when the AIDS activisst got lots of attention. He said that the progression of lyme is exactly like AIDS. People have to march and picket in large numbers.
Even if you are too sick to go you can encourage families and friends to join the fight.
If anyone lives in Cal. there are 2 meetings going on in Oct. One is IDSA it is in San Francisco, the other is IIMD in San Diego. Lyme activists are planning now.
We could organize by state and picket at the capitol, especially those that will be looking at the new H.R. 610 and H.R. 611.
Let me know what you think.
Great to read your post!
