When I had my LLMD follow-up visit (9 weeks into treatment), I asked for the CD57 test (in addition to the normal CBC they've been checking periodically.)
Just received the results, and I'm not sure what to make of them. After searching through the site and Internet, I still don't have much insight. Can anyone offer insight into the following values (from Quest Diagnostics)? The starred ones are abnormal.
CD57+/CD3- of % lymphs: 1%, ref range: 1-10
*CD57+/CD3- of % WBC: 0%, ref range: 1-4
*CD57+/CD3- cells/uL: 14 cells/uL, ref range: 20-258
CD57+/CD8- of % lymphs: 3%, ref range: 1-15
*CD57+/CD8- of % WBC: 0%, ref range: 1-4
CD57+/CD8- cells/uL: 41 cells/uL, ref range: 20-248
*CD57+/CD3-/CD8- of % lymph: 0%, ref range: 1-5
*CD57+/CD3-/CD8- of % WBC: 0%, ref range: 1-3
*CD57+/CD3-/CD8- cells/uL: 0 cells/uL, ref range: 20-114
*AST (SGOT): 52 u/L, ref range: 10-30 --> how bad is this?
ALT (SGPT): 22 u/L, ref range: 6-29
As I said above, this was 9 weeks into treatment, before I started Mepron and Artemisinin last week. My doctor's office said that these numbers are "not concerning at all" and that these values will fluctuate throughout treatment. I don't want to worry unnecessarily, but it bothers me to see abnormal values that I don't understand. What is the significance of the CD3 and CD8 markers and their ratios to CD57?
Many thanks for any assistance. Feeling clueless and discouraged.
