Hi Sheila and everyone else!
Sheila, do you have Babesia and/or Bartonella symptoms? That would be the first thing I would be considering. When I was looking for a diagnosis I researched my symptoms on the internet and that's how I came up with lyme and ehrlichia. Have you looked at the Sticky Thread on top called "New to Lyme? Start Here!" as that has the symptom list.
Anyway, I'm not sure if Dark Field Microscopy can actually detect coinfections, perhaps some of the more intelligent members here could chime in. I really don't know much about Dark Field Microscopy except that I saw my spirochetes which fascinated me.
I did find Ellen! I first knew her when I went to this Alternative Medicine Clinic on Long Island starting in 1996 or 1997 because I was so sick and was not diagnosed with lyme yet. I went to Serafina Corsello's center (she had 2 centers years ago, one in NYC and one on Long Island). Dr. Corsello (I read she passed away) treated mostly cancer patients. It was really expensive yet I felt better after taking her recommended supplements (spirulina, a green drink, and some other natural ones that I don't remember the names of) plus every Saturday I would get hooked up to an IV anti-viral pack and Vitamin C. Strange that Dr. Corsella never suspected or found the lyme bacteria with all the blood work I had done there.
Anyway, Ellen was a nurse who worked for Dr. Corsello and every Saturday I would see Ellen who used her microscope to look at my blood (guess she never saw the spirochetes during that time so it was a hit or miss type of thing).
Her name is Ellen J. Kamhi, Ph.D., R.N. and she has a website:

Also wrote books:

Again, I don't believe Ellen is lyme literate though who knows after almost 14 years? Maybe she has learned more since then. I have not been in contact with her after I saw another doctor who started treating me for lyme after my IgeneX results came back.
I hope this helps!
Denise
