mad  I was tested postive last week for Lyme. Very frustracted that there is no doctors in Vermont. Also looking for answers that seem to be misleading. Can you get this by transmitted sexually. Some websites say yes and other not sure. My reason is my partner has Lyme and now i do. Don't remeember been bit by tick. But all my test said i was postive and i have so many of the symptoms.

My llmd said it can be passes sexually, so I believe you could of gotten it from your partner. I was never bit by a tick either, only a mosquito, so I am not sure how I got mine, but I have it.

Borrelia has been isolated in semen, so I believe it can be sexually transmitted. It would be much easier to transmit male to female than female to male.

I wonder about transmittal via sexual activity too. Though if you and your partner spend time together outdoors, sleep in the same bed, etc there is a very good chance that you simply both got infected. When I found the tick in my head last year, my partner mocked me for freaking out so much, only to discover he ALSO had a tick in HIS head! True story.

His tick was apparently disease-free, however.

I believe there are some drs in Vermont. If you post a new thread , " Looking for LLMD in ___" some members here will likely have information.

Make sure you do get a lyme literate ILADS trained physician. There is a lot of good information on this site, especially in the "New to Lyme, Start Here" thread.
