Congratulations!! You have a doc that will at least listen!

Please do be sure that you are on a high enough dosage of Doxy though. It takes at least 400 and often as high as 600 mgs of Doxy a day to kill the bacteria. Lower doses may bring about symptom relief, but it is very short lived as those doses will only stop the bacteria from replicating.
