Lyme Dr. in Los Angeles?

Hello! I'm new to this forum and new to the Lyme world. Was bitten 15+ years ago. Currently living in the LA area and seeing an LLMD in Beverly Hills, who unfortunately, seems uninformed and has little interest actually helping me. I tested positive for Bartonella, Epstein Barr, and mycoplasma pneumonie. Currently waiting for a conclusive result from Lyme culture. (First time it came back inconclusive).

I am experiencing a lot of pain and have changed my life/diet significantly since I've started treatment (rifampin 600mg and azithromycin 500mg). The Dr. that I am currently seeing has changed my treatment around 3x, and says things like, "Well what medication do you want me to put you on? What do you want me to do?" In addition, he acts as though I am bothering him or wasting his time :(

I am not educated enough to direct my own treatment and am feeling very lost as to what I need to be doing for my symptoms, herxing, and diet. It's all very overwhelming. I'm looking for a well-informed Dr, who takes insurance, to put me on a solid treatment plan. I don't want to be asking a million questions and feeling like I am an inconvenience. Informed doctors should inform you in the first place, right?!?

Any ideas and names of doctors are greatly appreciated!!!!!

Thanks Diana! Just updated my profile, so it should be on there. Thousand Oaks is a ways away, but I'm willing to make the trip for a good LLMD! Thank you again, I really appreciate it.

Hi!
I've been infected with Lyme for more than 17 years. I used to live in NY for more than a decade and was an avid skier.

All these years I've been having fatigue and GI problems. All tests were normal. I knew there was something wrong though.

I've become a patient of Dr. J L in 2009.

It didn't happen like that - it took years of testing and analyzing results, but eventually I was diagnosed with Lyme and had 28 days of antibiotics IV treatment. My energy level, as well as concentration, focus and GI problems have greatly improved.

Every other doctor that I saw tried to convince me that I need to see a psychiatrist.

If you're looking for Lyme literate doctor in Los Angeles, I recommend Dr. J L
