I have been working near pine trees and wooded areas recently, under trees and brushing up against them. I am from the north east, connecticut to be exact. I've been having such strange symptoms recently and I'll tell you the order that I have had them..

I'm 23 years old, Male, Average shape, a bit under weight but not much.

Started about 3 weeks ago with nausea and diarrhea for about a week. Only puked once.
During this time I developed anxiety about my health which I've never had before. Last night I woke up at 3am super anxious for no reason.

After this I started having abdominal pain that happens once or twice a day for no reason I can tell. They seem to be in specific areas on the left or middle of my upper abdomen.

Went to doctors for blood tests, came back with what he considered signs of an infection. slightly high protein, some other elevated stuff and higher white blood cell counts. Due to this said just to be safe let's get you tested for HIV, I said okay. I figure i'll find out today, but he did call and say all my stool samples came back normal so I'd imagine he'd tell me HIV too.

He prescribed me anti-acids, after about 3 days of taking those I developed joint and muscle pain everywhere from fingers to ankles. My ribs started to have shooting pains in any quadrant, I kept checking my heart rate, it only spiked when I was anxious and not over 100. These happen about once a day.

I have also have back, lower back, and neck pain.

I also seem to be having sinus congestion, headaches daily that wax and wain anywhere in my head, could be top, front, side.

I stopped taking the pills, it's been about 4 days since I've stopped.

Last night I developed pins and needles all over my body, but mostly feet, some hands and arms and anywhere else that's possible.

I have felt fatigue and not quite my normal energy level, I've been eating normally recently, I wasn't eating well during nausea. I've started taking Multi-vitamins in case my levels of stuff are down due to this.

I also had Night Sweats twice.

Protein and Liver Enzymes were High however HIV came back Negative

Do you guys think it's lyme? I have a doctors appointment today, I'm going to have him check me for lyme and mono.

Hi krea!

Welcome to the forum!!

Given your recreational activity, your location in an endemic lyme disease area and your symptoms it is very possible that you do have lyme disease. I would encourage you to seek the opinion of an ILADS trained lyme doctor for an evaluation. Infectious disease drs and regular practitioners are useless for lyme disease. They will not treat it adequately, if at all.

Regular lab tests rarely pick up lyme disease. I, myself, tested negative three times through labcorp and positive through Igenex. I also had the deer tick bite with the EM rash - so there goes the accuracy of the tests.

I would also encourage you to look through our "New to Lyme" thread. There is lots of information on there including symptoms, coinfections (something you should look into) and how to find a lyme specialist.

In the meantime, I encourage you to employ some of the detoxing methods listed on the New to Lyme thread, and also eating a healthy diet as much as possible. Herbs have helped many on this site, including myself. And that is something you can start with yourself. Check out www.buhnerhealinglyme.com

I realize that it's not always present the rash, but I did not have one.

I'm going to search some LD doctors in my area.

I have been reading a lot because this seems to be the only thing that could give me sooo many symptoms.

Well I got the initial test today + check for liver enzymes. My Protein levels are still high and HIV was Negative. So if Liver + First test come back positive, I'm almost certain I have it.

Lyme is now considered an epidemic. Maybe even a pandemic (worldwide) at some point soon. It is not hard for me to believe that you have Lyme and possibly a co-infection as well. I have a father, mother, brother and myself who are all infected with Lyme. I am not kidding. I live in Massachusetts. It is awful. You can get help. You need to see the right kind of doctor and as everybody has said that would be an LLMD. Also contact ILADS they are a group that educates physicians and patients alike about LYME and the symptoms and how difficult it is to diagnose. Good luck we are all here for you.

Hi Krea,

Be careful, babesia is Notorious for causing elevated liver enzymes and could cause high iron levels and protein levels. Babesia is another tick born illness. Milk thistle is good to help the liver and if you go to a supplement store like vitamin shoppe they will have things that can lower your liver enzymes.

I like a lemon detox tea - they are found in regular grocery stores and really do help.

Get to an llmd stat bud. You describe exactly how things started for me in 2006 and after being mistreated things flared to a terrifying point one year ago and which drove me to finding a doctor who actually understands this disease. Im now on heavy abx and doing MUCH better. Stay on top of things.

My gastro doctor (which was my first problem so I went to him) seemed to know exactly what I was talking about when I said lyme. We pretty much said the same exact thing about liver enzymes and proteins being high on my first blood run. We forgot to do Liver Enz, my second one but proteins were still high (tested for HIV just in case). Third blood test results = Monday, I will know asap if I have it and I will begin treatment.

Today I felt what was like a slight difficulty to breath and still slight rib cage pain all over. Kept checking my pulse, perfect, checked my heart no weird beats, My BP yesterday was perfect 116/68.

It's very very possible monday He's going to call me and tell me I need to go to a LLMD, get my second test and antibodies in me.

I realize I may also have a co-infection (Babesia) or even 2. I'll get tested for those if I have it.

Thanks for everyone who has been commenting. I just wanted to get all of this out there incase I do have it, It'll be there for others to be like Oh man I have this! If I don't I'll make a big note at the top saying this wasn't it.

krea90 - well you're in good hands here on forum. what's your temperature? apparently if it's low (it's indicative of lyme).
