Is lyme contagious?

So my boyfriend called his dr office today to get western blot done . They told him lyme is not contagious. I don't want got go through treatment only to get it back ... I need advice!

You will here different opinions but I believe it can be sexually transmitted. I dont know if they will give him a WB test based on your illness. If he said he was recently bit he would very likely be tested. Is he having symptoms ?

No, not having symptoms. Plus he was on prednisone for about 3-4 months a year ago, and didn't get ill or start having symptoms, so maybe he's ok. I just don't want to go through treatment for nothing!

There is some truth to that though - for the most part, families go to the same areas together, whether they live in an infested area, or visit one. But - of course that's not always the case! These diseases can be passed from a wife/husband/partner and to children through the mother, by eating infected meat & organs, and by being exposed to or receiving tainted blood or organs. Ans that doesn't count all the insects that now have the potential to pass these diseases along - I know of no one that can claim they have never had a mosquito bite!

That's one of the problems with building awareness - these diseases can be obtained from so many sources and it's hard for most people to believe that something that is so prevalent would be ignored by the gov't and ID docs.
