Feeling so low

I just feel so low. And anxious. All I can think about is that if I don't find a new job by next October, the kids and I (and our pets) will end up losing our house. Seriously--I wake up thinking about it, I go to sleep thinking about it. It's a big, giant cloud hanging over my head at all times.

My alimony runs out in October of 2014, and at that point I won't be able to pay my bills. I've applied for SOOOO many job. I have an M.A., a provisional teaching certificate, and 20 years of exemplary work experience. I shouldn't be making $20K per year!

And the expensive antibiotics, herbals and supplements that these stupid diseases require are putting me deeper and deeper into the hole. I'm alone, tired all the time, and scared.

The Biaxin is giving me horrible gas and diarrhea at night--the only time I typically feel free of the anxiety/depression. It sucks! Sometimes, I just don't feel like I can go on.

Soscared, It is normal for you to feel this way. I too lost my job three years ago and was out of work for a year. We used up all of our life savings to save the house. I was sending resumes all over the place and walking the pavement to no avail. Finally one of the resumes paid off and i got a job. It paid half of what I was making but at least it was something. Then this disease hit me. No money in the bank, barely making ends meet and now I can hardly work. However, I have hope that the medicine will do its job and when unsure, I come here and seek help or a compassionate shoulder to lean on.

When there is no safety net underneath you it makes you feel hopeless. When you have to decide if you should pay the bills or buy medicine it is tough.

I too take Biaxin (Clarithromycin) and yes, the gas thing can be a problem, specially with the wife. She is so nice that she pretends she doesn't notice it. Poor girl.

If the Biaxin is not working for you, can the doctor change it to something else?

Hang in there. Things will get better.

Soscared, The Clarithromycin: The first time that I bought it I paid $80.00 out-of-pocket. I thought that was very expensive and I even thought that they had not included my insurance discount. However, the other three times that I have gotten a refill, I have paid just $8.00!

The first $8.00 bottle i thought it was just a mistake on their part. I even asked them if the price was right and they said yes. When the other bottles were also 8 dollars, I thought of going back and asking for a refund on the first bottle. But then I thought "how about if the 80 dollars is the right price and by me opening my big mouth they correct the error on the cheaper bottles and I end up paying the 80 dollars for ALL the bottles". I just left it at that.

So, do you have insurance with your work? If so, maybe you can shop around for a better price on the Biaxin. by the way, my Biaxin is made by ZyGenetics. Not sure if that has something to do with the price.

I am sorry so scared you are having such a hard time. Take one day at a time. I know it is hard not to worry with such financial burden, but hopefully you will be able to get things worked out by next october.
