"So does the detox food help the lymphatic system in the flushing?"
Hmmm, specifically, I'm not sure how it all works - LOL! I guess I should get some more coffee??? LOL! Hopefully someone who knows more about
those kind of details will come along soon - otherwise I'll see what I can find.
I do know that some people claim 'rebounding' will help the Lymphs flush, others say a Vitamin C flush, and others say to use hot then cold showers (BRRR!) - I used herbs though.
To keep that traffic jam from forming, you need to be sure that your kidneys and liver are healthy and functioning well. If you can tolerate it, milk thistle is a good one for liver health/protection.
"The kidney is actually self cleansing if you consume adequate fluids, which can take the form of foods such as fruits and vegetables as well as water and other liquids."
altmedicine.about.com/od/detoxcleansing/a/kidney_cleanse.htm -I actually like this gal's (Cathy Wong) take on things. I think she's putting good info out there, at least most of the time. She has listed some herbs/foods that can help cleanse the kidneys if you feel like it's necessary - but I would stay away from kidney "cleanses" unless your doc suggests it, or you really feel you need to do this. No need to put extra stress on the body when it's not necessary!
The skin also rids the body of some toxins, which is why we dry brush - keeps the dead skin from hanging around on top of the skin that's trying to push those toxins out.
