I am 3 months in treatment for Lyme, Bart, Babs. IV rocephin and oral ABX (pulse + life cycle treatments) malarone and supplements. Alcohol, caffeine, sugar and gluten free diet. Detox regularly. I have a team of conventional ID and LLMD docs. While symptoms have gone down, I have not had a single symptom free day in over 100 days (mostly neuropathy). Has ANY ONE eradicated this from their life? I am getting very hopeless.

While I live with permanent damage because I went so many years without treatment, I no longer have any active symptoms of Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia, RMSF or any of the other tick-borne infections!

If you have a chronic infection, it won't go away fast. These are very complex bacteria that create a very complex infection and only gets more complicated by having more than one of them.

How long have you been infected?

If you have been infected for say 5 - 7 years, 3 months really isn't very long to be in treatment.

Thanks Traveler. Bitten ~July 1. Diagnosed and started treatment by August 1. 5 bands IGG positive in subsequent blood work. I am told I present as both chronic and acute. The neurological symptoms (peripheral neuropathy) are quite severe. Initially it was transient, thought it was Herxing, but it now occurs daily the last 30 of 100 days--the entire time on IV as it turns out. Any thoughts?

Forgive me, as I'm not real good with abx treatments and what treats what. Are you currently in treatment for just Lyme, or Lyme and another one of the infections?

Both Bartonella and Babesia have the potential to make healing from Lyme very hard, unless they are treated either before or at the same time. I had to treat both Lyme and Bartonella at the same time in order to get past an initial improvement of my Lyme symptoms.

Bartonella is also known to increase the neuro symptoms of Lyme. My doc and I used Dr. James Schallers work to help understand how to treat both Bartonella and Babesia. Have you read any of his papers? www.personalconsult.com/

For some people, IV treatments just aren't as effective as they should be. I've never gotten into the why of it, as I've healed using herbal treatments. I just couldn't tolerate the abx.
