Hi, I'm new here, and I wish I had found this forum when I first contracted Lyme. It was June of 2012, I am one of the rare ones and found my tick, It must have been when it had just detached. I had just had my 2nd child, six weeks prior, so My immune system was probably weak. I called my family doctor, they said to do nothing, basically just wait and see. Well, 10 days later I felt the worst I have in my whole life. Everything hurt, beginning with my knees, except for my fingers and toes. I went to the doctor on Monday (2 days later) He did an exam, and had me get a test, and gave me a prescription for a 3 week course of antibiotics. But he didn't want me to start them till the blood test came back since I didn't have the bullseye. But I at least knew enough that the test would probably come back negative. The next day I had a red square near my groin where I found the tick, and my lymph node was swollen. So I took the pills, I had plenty of herxing, worst pain ever. And I continued nurse my son, because I was told it was safe, although I have since found out it was not. He is still nursing now. The symptoms went away. When I get a virus, even a stomach bug, my joints get achy. Fast forward to early sept., I was working for a writing company from home, and I lost my job. The job itself was very stressful, then losing it, I was more stressed than I have been in a long time. My left chest/breast/ribs started hurting, I had also just started working out again after a month off. It was sore where on the ribs on my side where the breast connects to the body. I immediately decided I had breast cancer. I went to the ob/gyn and she did an exam and said it seemed more musculoskeletal to her... she said to come back in 2 1/2 weeks after my period to see it was better/worse/same. Before I went back, one night in my sleep, I felt a pop where my left ribs connect to my sternum, so I thought costochondritis, my entire ribcage (back and front hurt severely) The the pain on the side seemed to go away, and there was a very sore spot about the size a pencil eraser where the left ribs meet the sternum. Then the pain moved to the lower outside of my left breast, then back to the sternum and now it is the top outside of the breast and starting to wrap around under my arm in the ribs. On Sunday night, my left temple was sore when I placed my hand under my head to sleep and since sunday my knees have been very sore at night. The pain on the breast/ribs is stronger than in early september. So my question is does this sound lyme or co-infection related, or not? And if so what can I do, bearing in mind that I do not have health insurance right now. Thank you in advance for your help. -Jackie
ETA: I did go back for the 2nd appt and she still believed it was musculoskeletal
