Please tell about your success here! I need some hope ASAP!

Hey guys, I've only been on treatment for 1 1/2 months and I'm herxing bad again. When I herx I get really depressed and feel like giving up. Can you tell me your success stories if you have one? I know I'm so new to treatment and I probably have a long road ahead of me. But I want to see the light at the end of the tunnel soooo bad. Thank you

Everyone here is probably tired of hearing mine, but here we go!! LOL!
I was first infected with RMSF from what we can tell - at the age of 8 yrs old. I tried using abx for a full year, but only got worse.

When I finally found what worked for me, although it was no cake walk, I did heal!! It took a total of 2 1/2 yrs of treatment for me because I had gone for so long without effective treatment though.

As of today, I have been free of active symptoms from Lyme and Bartonella for 1 yr and almost 11 months now, and from Babesia for almost 11 months now. I'm not sure when the symptoms from the other tick-borne infections went away as they were so similar or attributed to the infections I already mentioned.

You have to find what will work for you, detox, and support the body so that it can put it's full focus on healing.....and you will as long as you don't come up against some debilitating complications.

You will make it!!! Yesterday I walked around the mall again but without the stroller. My balance is a bit off so I would use it as an aide. Plus the spatial symptoms were off the charts! Not only did we walk around the whole mall...I even tried on clothes. We all laughed as my friend tried on wigs.

Yesterday felt like a normal day!!!! I too was seriously ill this time last year.

I also started working out this week with light weights. I never thought I would see the light again like Yogi said!!!!

Going to an LLND tomorrow to see where I am and what I need to do to get me through the finish line!

Stay positive and encouraged!!!! We will all make it!

That's why I've taken up the "detox, detox, detox" banner, Deejavu! LOL! I learned (with your help) just how important it is to detox, so now I'm the one saying it all the time!!

There's a wonderful post in the "New to Lyme?" thread about different things a person can use in the bath to detox and other ideas on detoxing.

Others on here do other things as well like lymph massage, ionic (I think?) foot baths, and other things. You can use the search function on here to help find what others are doing and the success that they've had - or you can just start a new thread!

I want to encourage you by letting you know that there indeed is hope for a healthy and productive future for you! My daughter is living proof.

Heather was sick with Lyme and coinfections for about 6 years before we found a treatment approach that restored her immune system to the point where it could take over to keep her healthy.

Heather was certainly just as sick and debilitated as many of the worst cases are on this forum. She experienced terrible fatigue, pain, neurological dysfunction, and cognitive issues. There was a period of time when she could not walk. She has been well for over 3.5 years at this point. Today she is a student/athlete competing in a Division 1 swimming program, and is doing very well!

She even received some mosquito bites this summer and became CDC positive in August. There is not the slightest indication that she is struggling against the newly infected pathogens that have reinfected her body. My point is that it is possible to become healthier than you were before your illness!

Please take joy in what you are hearing from me here, and do not listen to the purveyors of doom and gloom. It certainly is not a foregone conclusion that you be struggling for the rest of your life. Asada,I am sorry to hear of your present suffering, and I do understand. I wish you the best in your personal journey to wellness!!!

I also want to thank those that have left the warm and kind comments. We are all in this together aren't we? Everybody here has a share in the suffering, but my fervent desire and prayer is that every member shares in the victory of healing as well!

Now you see why I talked Don into being a Mod for a short while!!! He was great, but life has taken him in a direction that he no longer has the time to donate daily to this forum, so we just hope that he comes here when he can!

As for those spots - the little red ones could be from Babesia and the larger brown ones could be 'age spots' or what my Mom's Dermatologist calls 'wisdom spots'. Giggle!

But these are only a couple of possibilities, especially since we can't see them or have been medically trained! It would be best for you to talk with a doctor about it, keeping in mind that if they don't know enough about tick-borne infections, they will attribute them to something else entirely discounting the possibility of it being from a tick-borne disease.

Above all, hang in there!! You'll make it! Just take things in as you can - one day at a time, one hour at a time or just doing the next right thing. Remember that as hard as this is, it's still better than the alternative - staying sick!!
