@Garden Peace that is precisely the issue...if organic would come down in price and trust me, it won't.
What most people do not realize is that Europeans spend a lot of their money on food and health. When I was over there I was shell-shocked at the prices of food. But I also did notice happier, healthier people with much less 'stuff.' Americans spend money on 'stuff.' We have more 'stuff' then the entire world, combined. When folks come over here from Europe or south america...know what they do, they buy STUFF. We basically get a mass discount because we are the worlds largest consumers and it is reflected in our prices.
Americans wanted cheap food and we got cheap food. Now we want good quality, not mass produced food and we can get it in most areas (sorry midwest!) but it is priced accordingly. If people want organic they need to buy organic but the price will not go down except maybe marginally, good food cost more and it always will. I say grow your own. :)
