My sleep is resolving FINALLY!!! There's hope for us all.

So, have been sleeping highly medicated for an entire year now, and I finally started tapering off the pharms. Been taking Mirtazapine (which, by the way, knocks you out COLD!!) And it helps spur appetite, great when you look like a 12-year old after being infected from Lyme. Getting my boody back!!!

Slept 2 nights this week without the antiphychotic... Just taking Tryptophan and Calm PRT (is it?) per Opugirl's recommendation. Thank you!!!

At first the Rhodiola Rosea in another formula didn't work, but this combo seems to work and the infection must be smashed down enuf for my systems to start self regulating. Slept 11 uninterrupted hours last night. A few weeks ago, I still couldn't sleep unassisted. Symptom decline (like actively "looking for the perfect relationship") happens when you least expect it.

This (insomnia) and some twitching are my remaining symptoms from Lyme. And the insomnia is lifting finally. Well and I have some funky Bart marks but my mind is back - and the anxiety and doom are completely gone, so I can handle the marks, knowing that I've finally beat this infection down to manageable levels.

I didn't think I'd make it through, honestly. Seriously, like many of you, I truly didn't think I would live thought this. I cried all of the time, blaming all of the people who weren't there for me. In retrospect I see that everyone just did the best they could at the time. And the anxiety was beyond what seems humanly possible for anyone to endure. But I did and you will too.

I'd say I'm about 90% to 95% healed. I write this to give you all hope. Hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel...hope that you WILL get through this- you will beat this infection. You WILL get the upper hand. You will LOVE your life and health again. Maybe sooner than you think.

We are fortunate to have this forum, our amazing and loving moderators and each other.

So glad to hear it Sarah!

And that is just the thing you know, it is different dosages and etc for each person! 11 hours...that is fantastic!

Just be careful, when you *no longer need it, or need to lower the dosage - it might make you very sick like it made me.

I do still get twitches when I get stressed but nothing compared to what it used to be and those are slowly tapering off as well. Magnesium aspartate did help me with that. I'm so happy for you! Sleep is a wonderful thing!

YAY for getting your boody back and your sleep!!!! (Doing the Cabbage Patch dance in my cubicle for you) lol.

Amazing how once you start healing you are on a roll!!!! So glad to hear great things from you!!!! Keep it up and before you know it you won't need sleep aids or anything. You will sleep good and get your body back!!!!!!!

So great to hear Sarah and thanks for posting your success story. Seems like you have a great LLMD by the combos you were and are on and of course by your symptom relief. Many of us including myself are having a rough time with treatment so it's nice to know there is hope and a light at the end of the tunnel.

Sarah, I am so happy for you. I have to learn the cabbage patch dance so I can do it too.

11 hours of continuous sleep? you are so lucky and I am so jealous :-) If I combined three days of sleep I probably would not total 11 hours.

Thanks for sharing your story...it gives me hope.

I might have spoken too soon, as last night I had to grab the sleeping pharm... Fearful the sun would rise and I wouldn't get a good night's rest and had a busy day teaching today. Also a little cranky today because I'm so ready for this to be in the past... Getting super close though--

ToddPaul-- I'm so sorry you're having a hard go at the treatment.. How long have you been sick? Making progress?? Sending you so much hope that it can be done...

Barngirl, thank you!!! I started treatment on April 9th, so I'm headed into my 7th month.... Really similar to Opugirl. In fact she and I started getting sick in Oct of last year... Have made similar progress. Been on Factive for Bart for about a month and a half now-- I'm taking double the dose my dr prescribed.... Figure my body can take it so why not....we need to fight fiercely (which I really think is affective). And the Houtinneyia (can never spell that correctly) seems to be doing wonders-

Travelor- thx for the HH info!!! And YES you were right even though I wasn't in a place to believe you. You're such an amazing woman. I drink the tea all day long. My honey bought some mini Kerr canning jars so I can throw the premade tea in the microwave (bad I know) or keep the lid on it and drink cold while driving. This way I'm sipping it constantly....and I LOVe the taste.

Healing: Opugirl, Travelor and I will drag you to the finish line with us. There IS a finish line and we're all gonna get there. We CAN DO this!!!!

I have had lots of adjusting Yogi with the sleep. I would say I get 3 really good nights and 4 so-so nights but still a good 6 hours on so so nights. I occasionally take one of the calm prt and tryptophan but most of the time now I don't need it. give it another month or so. :)

I'm so glad that you are finding your healing, no matter what you use to get there! And I'm so glad to hear that you have found a way to keep the treatments up!! A little creativity when you can, goes a long way!!

And yes - we will drag Opugirl - or anyone else we have to wink - over that finished healing line!!! You know, I'll need a hand with dragging Opugirl anywhere - she's a bit feisty! Giggle!!! turn
