confused  Worried about starting Diflucan tomorrow.  Can you herx from Diflucan?  I've had lyme for 2 years, lotsa abx.  Have been battling the yeast for some time. (Now am seeing a new LLMD....think he is much more on the right track....PTL!)  Have not taken this med before...worried.  Any advice???  I'm also on Nystatin oral meds, but dealing with alright, but nothing that keeps me down.  Worried about having more of a herx reaction from the diflucan, seeing as it has more of a systemic action.  I appreciate any advice... :-)

Are you replacing the Nystatin with Diflucan? Or taking them both? They are both antifungals, so be careful.

I do suggest that you be sure to use a good, refrigerated probiotic or kefir as well to help replace the bad with the good. www.thecandidadiet.com/probiotics-and-antifungals.htm

I would also suggest that you be sure you are detoxing well! If your doc feels like you need a second anti-fungal, then s/he believes you to have quite a bit of Candida likely and when it starts to die off, you will likely herx.

Hi there, I hope all is well. Are you taking Diflucan daily or the big mega pill that you take like once a month (well at least its once a month for me). I will say that you will feel die off however...if you are on a good probiotic and something like Kefir (thanks for that advice Trav). You should be fine...but if you're taking multiple things like Trav said then you might feel a herx.

I will say this...I took one pill 3 weeks ago and still have die off. I see it in my urine, poop and felt slight burning in the areas where I guess the yeast was at.

Let us know how you feel. Also lower your carb intake too. That contributes to yeast :-)
