With the ruckus that just happened on here with another member emailing some folks who didn't ask for those emails - Healing Well does have email accounts that members can get that end with Healingwell.com. That way you are not putting your own personal email out for others to use.

Should you start having any issues with receiving unwanted emails, it's very easy to drop that email address and get another one without having to change your personal email address with everyone else that may have it- like family and friends.

Just click on the word "email" above - just under the "Forums & Chat" tab. Click on the "Sign up now" and follow the instructions. eyes It appears that I too will be doing this.

We need to, as a lyme community - be EXTREMELY CAREFUL about WHO WE GIVE INFORMATION TO, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO OUR DOCTOR****

Given some of the information I've recieved it is very very possible that someone toting a 'cure' protocol may be responsible for trying to access personal information including doctor encounters with patients, lyme doctors names, etc. For all we know this person could be trying to gain information-to incriminate doctors and try to use this information against them. That would be horrible as we all know.

And this person pretends to not be associated with the protocol....they literally make up stories about profession etc. One person only caught it because they screwed up, which sadly - means it could be anyone on the forum.

I, myself - will sadly be no longer sending lengthy emails about lyme doctors. I will wait for someone to call me - spend time talking with me - before I give that information out.

Done. And given the emails I just recieved - I'm with Trav - I would highly recommend all users to do this.

Hi there, I hope you don't mind if I hop over from another forum to put my two cents in here. I saw this post and I think it's really important.

I don't use the HealingWell email but I created a name for myself just to use here and an email with that name on hotmail because of that very reason you were talking about: unwanted email and maybe even worse, threatening or harrassing email. You can just make up a name and when you register with any of those email servers, make sure you remember the data you put in when you register if you're not going to use your correct DOB or location, etc. This is so if you ever forget your PW or are locked out for some other reason, it'll be easy to restore your account. (I speak from experience because I was dumb the first time around!)

It has happened in the past that a member actually did threaten another member through email and the police were able to identify the culprit by his computer identification (what is that, the IP address?) and he was arrested.

That was extreme but please be careful and do not use the same email address here that identifies you or that your family and friends use because you may have to change it.

It's such a shame that we have to be careful to protect ourselves so much, but that's what this world requires. It's always much better to say 'boy I'm glad I did that' than ' I wish I would have done that'.
