New Discover Magazine article about Lyme

It is 3 pages (I missed that the first time through the article). It also has an interactive map where people can report where they were infected. Author is trying to show Lyme is everywhere.

Let me know what you think, I think th author did a good job. I'm grateful to see something recent out in the public and one that challenges the doctors that continue to ignore Lyme.

The comments section is a lot of fun to read also.....how can those in power be so blind.

The link to the map is provided in the article. Speaking of that article, gotta love when someone who is supposed to understand these things comes out with a quote like this:

" While strains of Borrelia burgdorferi can be found in the South, says Jean Tsao, a Lyme researcher from Michigan State University, there is no bridge between the natural and the human world. Instead, the disease cycles are “cryptic,” meaning the spirochetes cycle quietly among ticks and animal hosts but have virtually no effect on human health. "

This person should not be allowed to call themselves a scientist - many illnesses can cross from animals to humans and from humans to animals!!! Just about makes my blood boil! GRRR!!!

Thanks for correcting the link Traveler, not sure what happened. You just have to wonder what kind of training these so called doctors are getting, I've become synical at some of the nonsensical comments coming out from doctors in power and setting guidelines. Very frustrating. I have watched Uner Out Skin for a thrid time and I just want to scream at those doctors for the prosecution of fellow doctors who are trying to help people and are being successful, its criminal.

No problem on the link - sometimes they get really fussy and cant' be fixed at all. I like to use hyper links though as it makes it easier for those with bad brain fog to still follow along.

I do agree with you - it's criminal.
