Tooth and Jaw Pain

Has anyone experienced severe tooth pain when their symptoms flared or where having a herx. I have severe pain that started in my tooth, has moved to entire left side of face, neck and head. Its kind of suspicous because it is all on the left side which is where most of my other pains, tingles, and snap sensations occur. Ibuprofen is barely touching it

It actually sounds like it's more of a nerve issue, especially when you tell of your other issues on the same side of your face with nerve issues.

That being said, Lyme can and does attack the teeth as well. It's well known to form biofilms in the mouth and cause gingivitis as well, so if you haven't had a check up in a bit, it might be time...just to be sure.

I too have molar nerve pain, but I also on occasion feel my front teeth distempered. Kind of what the teeth feel like after bleaching them. I don't eat any citrus, sugar or drink cold drinks so I blame it on the infection.

my left jaw is so tender, can't even open my mouth entirely...

I get sharp shooting pains in my jawline on occasion, but when I get a "flare up", I have increased TMJ symptoms on my left side...seems most who've commented have issues with the left side...hmmm, wonder if that's just coincidence/too small of a poll size, or if it invades the left side more for some reason. Maybe it has to do with what area of the brain/spine is infected...or maybe it is related to the cardia aspect of Lyme, desperate4dx, being that the heart is on the left...

Guess it doesn't really matter, it's annoying either way.

Lymerunner, can you pinpoint the tooth/teeth that are bothering you. My husband has dental issues, and has used orajel when he has to wait the weekend to see the dentist. It's helped him with some pretty severe pain, although he has to apply it constantly...

lymerunner, I have got to tell you my recent experience. I have been having alot of tooth pain too. I went to a holistic dentist. I have 3 abcessed teeth, 2 of them under the crowns i have from prior root canals. I also have a cavitation in my lower left jaw from a tooth that was pulled 3 yrs ago.

My lyme md feels this is part of why I am so ill. There is a bacteria that is shaped like a spirochete, looks like the lyme bacteria, treponeum or something that I am trying to find out if it cause a false positive on a lyme test. I think I have lyme on top of my teeth infection. the infection in your mouth can suppress your immune system and my understanding make you more suceptible to lyme.

my dentist said it looks like I may be allergic to nickel, the metal that is used in the root canals. He also informed me many times do the root canals get infected because there are tiny tubules extending out from the end of the tooth the dentist can't get to when the root canals is done, so there is infection left in there.

I have been doing alot of research on this in the net, and have also read about how each tooth lies in a meridian, that is in line with specific organs, and that if one of the teeth in a meridian gets infected it will affect the correlating organ. This is based on principles like acupuncture treats. There are meridians in the body, and the needles help get the meridian back in tune, or help heal it. would you believe where I have the 2 abcesses on my left upper mouth, that I also have pain in my left side of my neck, and my left shoulder and arm at times. could it be related? I am going to see when I have them all pulled. I plan on getting implants.

I also have chronic ringing in my ears and I am wondering now if that could be related to my teeth or some heavy metal toxicity. I hope to soon find out. boy you know this lyme, it sure is alot of trouble.

I'm one of them!! Even though I had no clue I had been living with tick-borne infections, when I finally got the teeth out that were infected/getting infected/cracked/broken......my health improved within months!

hi everyone. lymerunner, I am having all the root canaled teeth removed and dental implants done. but I plan on making sure that I am not allergic to titanium. they can use zircon if you are allergic to titanium. I also will have some kind of procedure done on the cavitation in about 1 year after I have the teeth pulled and dental implants done.

I want to see how much I improve with this before addressing the cavitation. It is hard to clear these up sometimes, and my dentist said that if opening it up does not help to heal it, that ozone helps a lot.

traveler, I am glad to hear your health improved after the implants were removed. that gives me hope for my improvement.

I so dread having all this done. I am facing this, on top of lyme and a possible divorce and a change in living arrangements. I may end up just getting a separation until all this is over.

I have some teeth that will need implants as well. Been researching this a bit after talking to my biological dentist. Anyways, the zirconium implants are supposed to be hypoallergenic vs titanium which some people really react to (Dick Van ****). Also the zirconium look better in the mouth because at the top of the tooth where it meets the gumline - it doesn't have that gray look that titanium implants give off. Zirconium looks like a natural tooth where titanium has a gray look to the gumline/tooth area because it is reflection of the metal. I am opting to not do an implant right now because they are SO expensive but when I do it will be zirconium.

I forgot to say that my daughter had pain on one side of her face that turned out to be from TMJ, so once the chiro fixed that, she didn't have the pain there any more. It would contribute to her headaches too.

Haven't read the whole thing, but I have tooth pain to some degree all the time, and the dentist keeps wanting to do Fluoride treatments, which I'm sure are toxic.

I have jaw pain all the time, but I can't afford the dental device you're supposed to put in before you go to bed!
