Update - 2nd Lyme Test

10/16/13 - Had IGeneX lyme tests done (IGM/IGG).

Here's the IGeneX lab results...

11/21/13 - I took the results to a llmd appt. They looked over my IGeneX results, all my medical work documents from past 10 yrs, discussed history/present, short physical...

Dr. stated:

* they do not think I have lyme;

* that IGeneX often errs on the side of false positive, to be 'safe';

* that they believe I need anti-depressents. Their exact words were:

    "It would be wrong for me to not say it could be that we could put you on Celexa and it would make you all better."

I walked out of the office with blood work needed for 16 tests.  Today I had all the blood work drawn.

The CD57 and Babesia were done via LabCorp, and the rest at my lab.

My next llmd appt is on the 23rd of this month. Then I will find out what the blood work shows, and we will go from there. I'm still confused about all of this. I pray that I'll have clarity and then direction after the 23rd appt.

I am grateful I was able to get the blood work done today.

I'm not sure how a doctor can call themselves a "Lyme Doctor" and say that a person who has not one, but three Lyme specific bands show up as positive doesn't have Lyme!!! Just how do they think that person got so many Lyme specific bands to be positive????? Double GRRRRR!!!

And the odds of Labcorp returning positive results for those tests are very low!

I still say to get away from that doc. There has to be another one near you. There's no point in seeing a doc that won't acknowledge positive test results! And if he's not that educated, but thinks he is, he's even more dangerous!

So sorry, In a cocoon! It just gets my blood boiling when stuff like this goes on.

Thanks all for support. There is another llmd the same distance (1.5 hrs) the other direction. If this test/dr doesn't provide clear picture of what's going on, I'll probably get in to see them.

So far this has cost me $1060 out of pocket, not including gas/time. And I still don't know what's going on.

The follow up appt runs $175.00. To tell me.....I don't have lyme? I do have lyme? Co-infections? Or that this is all in my head and stear me towards the anti-depressent.

Oh, and this present llmd said they got into the lyme issue after their daughter got lyme.

That is what is so discouraging to hear. I'm sorry you are dealing with this Cocoon. So am I. It is stories like this that make me fearful of trying to goto an LLMD...this one appears to be no better than a regular doctor. This is so wrong to make sick people search the world over for competent help.
