They can make good pets, although they are herd animals so you will want to have more than one. It also depends on their personality - they can be more destructive than a dog, so keeping that and the fact that they are really goats in mind, they can make really wonderful pets.

I had two dairy goats and they were pets much more than they were livestock for me! I would hang out with them a bit each day- they are real characters!!

Ha, ha Traveler!  Where I live it doesn't melt and I'm out almost every day so I shovel.  Hey, it's the Vermont way of life!  We got more snow today on top of the previous snow and I say to myself " shoveling is good exercise!"...  The part I dislike is putting down the ice melt... 

But those goats are soooooooo cute!!!  I still want to own some goats one day...
