Protrusion and swelling of abdomen (hernia? post c. diff.?) Nervous.

HI,

I have a protrusion or swelling in the lower left part of my abdomen, between navel and hipbone.

I'm wondering if it's a hernia because of all my abdominal problems post c. diff.

I'm also a cancer survivor, but I'm not really worried about that possibility, bc. a hernia seems more likely.

What worries me the most, is that I absolutely cannot take any abx, since that's what caused the c. diff., which was really bad. If I have to have surgery, I know they'll make me take abx.

Wish me luck; I'm having an ultrasound done on Monday.

Margaret, sorry to hear of the profusion. My brother-in-law has a similar issue in the same area and it ended up being a hernia. He had it operated and he is OK now.

Sorry you have that worry. I hope the ultrasound will show the cause and that it won't be too serious.

My daughter wasn't given antibiotics when she had an appendectomy, which I thought was strange. I don't remember the reason for it.

First of all, I'm so sorry to hear this! Best of luck and a prayer for you on Monday.

If you have a good, knowledgeable Herbalist that you can work with, even if the regular docs prescribe abx, you don't have to take the pharma abx. You can allow them to write their scripts and then go to your Herbalist and get some herbs with abx activity that will work on the same part of your body.

Even before I knew that I was dealing with Lyme and company, I was a smoker (not now though) and because of my ragweed allergies I would get severe bronchitis twice a year. Every time, it would begin to turn into pneumonia and I would be threatened with a hospital stay - even though I was taking the abx as prescribed.

It wasn't until I started using herbal abx plus an herb that opened up the lungs that I would begin to get better - and in three days time, the doc would then tell me that I've passed the "critical time" and he would quit pushing me to go to the hospital.

Just sayin.....

Herbal antibiotics could be beneficial and also lots of really good, expensive probiotics. I take a probiotic for every antibiotic pill prescribed. That was what my LLND told me to do. So when I was on 6 antibtiotic pills a day I had to also take 6 probiotic pills a day to replenish all the good bacteria. It helps to prevent the Cdiff. ask your doctor or LLMD.
