I have been having neurological problems and wondering what I can do to make it better? I am a teacher. If a student changes their haircut I am not able to recall their name. At the beginning of the school year I walked around with a clipboard with a seating order on it for two months and was not able to memorize the kids' names. I still don't remember the names of about
15% of the kids I teach. I frequently make mistakes on the board, for example, I am thinking 3 and writing 4. If I meet my students out of context, for example at the store, with about
30% of them I don't know if I teach them this year or if I had them last year. If a student who has graduated comes in to visit I cannot remember their name and I don't remember that they graduated. I was reading some articles last night about
Lyme destroying the myelin sheath on neurons (at least that's what I remember, who knows what I read!) My dr. will be writing an order for Alpha Lipoic Acid IVs for me to address a neuropathy in my left hand and said it should help my memory too. I have been taking ALA pills but they don't seem to be doing much. Anything else I can do for my brain?

Hi Lymebaby,
Probably due to my having fibromyalgia, I also have brain fog. I find what helps me is to watch what I eat and drink. You could google brain foods.
Good luck to you.

What are you doing to detox? Brain fog is due at least to a point, to ammonia in the brain from the bacteria die off.
There are products that will target the ammonia, or you can increase your detoxing efforts first to see if that will help.

I do an Epsom salt bath every night. I just bought ginger and will be ordering hydrogen peroxide. I do FIR sauna every other day. I also ordered dandelion tea from Amazon so I am waiting on that. What are the products that target ammonia? The problem is it is a huge change of lifestyle and a major learning curve. Between trying to work and survive it really comes to one change at a time. Normally I am really good at changing things and being on top of what needs to be done. Not now. Sometimes it's just sheer survival.
