I had some tests with elevated ALT and AST levels which apparently represents liver enzymes. I have not even started antibiotics. Is this common with those with Lyme?

It is common in disease in general. But if your liver enzymes are already high I might try to bring them back down as a focus before the antibiotics. If you are not allergic to ragweed I would recommend standardized milk thistle extract. You can get it at any pharmacy or vitamin store. It protects the liver and gall bladder. If you cannot take milk thistle there is Himalaya liver care which does not have milk thistle. Lemons are also good for the liver and there is tea sold at most grocery stores.
Lets get your liver in shape to fight! Def. something you want to be tested for regularly while you are on abx as well. There are abx that are processed through the kidneys and not the liver so you might want to start with those.

Thank you, that is good information!! I do need to order more supplements, what's another one to take? Do you know if milk thistle is better than dandelion root?
