does anyone on here work that has chronic lyme disease? if you do, do you work part time full time low stress positions? if you do work, do have to rest extra hours to be able to function?

I would like to hear other people's experience. I would like to work, but the fatigue and feeling terrible has kept me from it in the last 6 yrs. I am improving now, and would like to give myself plenty time to heal before I even attempt to go back to work.

I am a high school teacher and just left my job for an extended medical leave till next September. I don't think they understood what on earth was going on with me but they gave it to me. While I am home I need to figure this out so that I can go back in the fall. Just put a call in into couple clinics trying to get a jumpstart on my recovery. I actually purchased Bodi Charger sometime in September and that helped me get through the day.It lessened my pain and gave me some energy. Without it I would not have been able to work. I really pushed myself and thought I was going to be able to do it. Finally I got a terrible reaction to one of the antibiotics and realized that I was simply too run down to work. I was not able to cook so I was not eating right. I was not able to take my medication because of the side effects. So first day back at school in January I talked to the principal and said I could not do this anymore. Where this will leads we shall see. The only thing I could do right now is to make worksheets and sell them on TeachersPayTeachers but I need to learn some software first so that I can make them. I also thought about becoming a model for the AARP. I am 42 (60 is the new 40, right?), short and wrinkled (they don't look for tall models as they are all shrinking now) and all you have to do is leisurely stroll along a fishing pier in freshly pressed LL Bean clothes. While you do this you need to give out an impression that if you REALLY REALLY wanted to you could manage a brisk walk without using a walker. I though, that is a PERFECT job for me right now! (this is a joke, of course!) Good luck!

thank you lymebabe for sharing. I am sorry you are having a bad time.

maybe you can be a model. I know I don't have the looks for that. i wish I did. I am a rn on disability and make enough to live comfortably. but I would like to earn more income, and I enjoyed working with patients. I would like to work again.

I have felt alot better since starting antibiotics in october, but still have long way to go. I feel bad, have fatigue, depression. alot of my other symptoms have gone. I just got 3 abcessed teeth pulled and implants put in so I am hoping I will feel bette since they are gone. I am in withdrawal from klonopin, 14 months and still having some withdrawal symptom which I hope will get better. it takes 2 years at least to heal from benzodiazepine addiction.

I tell you this is such a ridiculous disease! Hoping you can get better soon to be at work. I just left all the kids and I am pretending to myself it did not happen. It is such a huge loss that I am just not dealing with it.
