Hello I would like some help. Been tested with Western Blot 2 times, once in July 2013 and again in Nov 2013. Seen a Dr who said I need 5 out of 10 to be LYMES but the results show 6 in my eyes. The results says positive and in some places negative. I am also being treated for many things and on 18 different medication slowly getting off. My thing is I am always getting repeatedly bite by ticks and can't help it. In a bad area lots of wooded and fields. I have been feeling sick for about 2 months again. can't eat, sleep, chills. ect ect. here are the results need any more information ask. I been trying to find a LLMD, Dr on waiting list. here is the results. My PCP said he didn't know enough and sent me to someone who said I am cured. So now that Dr will send his findings to my pcp and I will have to fight my Dr so he will believe me.

First testing said I had 1 second testing to me says I have 6. And they both Positive. Please any clue to this reading. Oh Thank You.

You have 6 total positive bands between the two tests but your doctor takes each test individually. The November test you have 3 out of 10 on the IgG and the CDC says you need to have 5 to be considered positive for Lyme. The thing is the CDC is overly strict in determining who has Lyme. Bands 23 and 39 are specific to Lyme so you basically would not come up positive for those if you didn't have Lyme. Your doctor should also take into consideration you have symptoms and you've been bitten numerous times. It's the whole picture that counts.

You really need to find a Lyme-literate doc or LLMD to get proper treatment. They will believe you. If you need some names in your area you can make a separate post asking for one or contact ILADS. Best of luck to you.

Thank you This is what confusing LOL should say everything. But This pasted below say Positive. And the one I had on 11-11-13 said no change from previous test Positive. Then the quack Lyme Dr I went to said I was cured. Because Nov I only have 4 out of 5 . But the 1st test I only had 1 out of 5 in July. How can that be because I feel the same as I did before. Felt so much better on antibiotics I was able to eat and rest a bit better. My sleep bites about 3-4 hours a night if lucky. Again Thank you still looking for good Lyme Dr.

I would completely agree with you and ToddPaul about your tests being positive. You are showing 'reactive' on several Lyme specific bands.

For information on finding a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, you can start a new thread titled something like:"Looking for LLMD/LLND in the _______ area." Although you will need to enable your email option in your profile in order to receive any recommendations, as we don't allow doctor's names and contact info to be posted on the forum for several reasons. You can enable your email option in your profile, under 'edit profile'. Be sure to click the submit button to actually save your preference.

You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) trained doctor, as ID Docs (Infectious Disease Doctors) believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme.
