I had a horrid reaction where it caused me to not only have a diarrhea but any food I ate was basically not digested. It was horrible and it took me 2 weeks to recover. Right now I am off it was given Clidamycin but I simply don't have the strength to go on it. Hope it gets better for you soon. I had to start taking 2 capsules of Dr. Ohhira's probiotic 2x day and that finally made it better. I still feel weak from it and it has been 3 wks. Good luck!

Lymebabe,
Clindamycin is way stronger than Zithro. I own a vitamin store and one of my customers recently got C-diff from Clinda. Please do not touch it. What kind of doctor would give you that after the reaction you had to Z-pak.

I'm so very sorry to hear this, Mystery!
Please be sure that you are checked for things like C-diff and Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth (SBBO -

)

I have only taken it for a week now and Friday my stomach was really hurting bad. I am off for 2 days now and stomach pain is gone but I take lots of probiotics plus eat fermented foods/drinks. Monday I have to start taking it again, I will up the probiotics.
Sorry to hear it is messing with ur gut, hope you are feeling better soon.
Maybe I need to alert
my doc about
my gut before it gets to severe.

Thanks ToddPaul, I guess my gut instinct was correct on this one! I felt like I just should not take it. Instead I asked for Cryptolepis. I am on my way to grocery store so that I have enough food to ride out the herx without having to resort to calling people for help.
