Just expressing some relief...

I'm used to severe headaches like cluster headaches and migraines preceeded by migraine auras, and the classic pressure headache I had for over 15 yrs. What I experienced this weekend beats all of it.
I honestly thought I wouldn't make it through the weekend.

I had some unusual symptoms before the weekend, and several migraine auras per day on Thursday and Friday. I couldn't get up all weekend (started on Friday evening, I'm in Europe, it's Sunday night now), like someone repeadetly bashed the right side of my head against a wall. Husband was at a seminar last night, he got home at 5.30 am, if it wasn't for that I would have asked him to drive me to the ER. Couldn't sleep and couldn't keep my eyes open because of the pain.

But I made it, the headache is becoming 'normal'. The tension and pressure in my neck, back and shoulders is still at its highest though, nausea is getting better.
A useless post, but all alone, had to share it, sorry... Glad it's starting to get better.

Oh Marie,

I know people who get migraines and I feel so bad for people who get them.  So glad you are feeling some relief!!  I always wondered if there is a scientific reason for migraines?  confused

MarieLS - I get these migraines too. They come on like Im seeing "stars" in my eyes and I even get a little dizzy and then BAM the pain and super sensitivity to light kicks in.

Ive found great relief in my coffee enemas though. for me they not only quickly reduce my migraines, but Id swear they even prevent them. So perhaps there is a migraine-toxicity overload connection?

First of all, you don't have to apologize! Got it? smilewinkgrin Seriously, I'm so sorry to hear how miserable you were. I sure hope you don't repeat that very often. Take it easy for a couple of days so you can recover from it, since it's a lot of stress on your system.

Can you tell if there are any food or other triggers to one that bad? Maybe you should try some enemas like vcast suggested, just in case it is from a buildup of toxins.

Sorry to hear about this. And I am also having an issue with bad headache today (stress ?). I use regular aspirin at times. Doesnt eliminate but helps. Hope you feel better soon !

Sooo sorry to hear that. I hate migraines, but I've never had to go to ER or anything like that. Holy Cow!

The only times my migraines have gotten worse is when I took some sort of medication or supplement that caused a reaction; Welchol was one of them, Maca the other.

Have you tried the herb Feverfew? It works quite well for me, but it takes a few weeks of taking it 2 to 3 times a day before you notice any improvement.

Those danged migraines!!!

I totally understand what you are talking about except for the auras. I'm sorry you have been suffering so much, and unless someone has had a migraine, it's really hard to describe completely. Between the debilitating pain and the nausea and God forbid vomiting...it's dreadful!! It's sad that my kids are getting used to seeing me like this...ice pack on my head and heating pad on my neck...me flat on my back on the couch sometimes for days....it's ridiculous!! And when it finally breaks, it's like wow, I had some really dark thoughts :( It just get really old.

Tetragram...I have heard of feverfew and will def try that...I have been on just about every class of meds without relief.

Marie...I pray you are coming out of your cluster migraine and you have a much needed break. God bless!

Hi pumpkin. :-)

How are you doing today? Hopefully a tad better than the last few days.

I think this European weather isn't exactly helping............so damp and cold.I've just read that the low trough is dissapating and a successtion of highs are on their way.

Sometimes changes in weather pressures bring on headaches,I really hope you start feeling better soon.

well, my neurologist told me she sees it happen to lyme patients, although she knows almost nothing about LD... my sister has migraine attacks too, but then she also has lyme and Bartonella?

I didn't even think of coffee enemas, my mind was standing still, I couldn't do the easiest thing - I could hit myself in the head (well, maybe I'll wait a few days, had enough of that this weekend - lol) for not thinking about  that. Thank you for the tip!!

Haven't noticed a relation with food, I eat dark chocolate, but I don't see a connection. Fatty foods are not good, but I avoid them anyway (can't digest it)...

Barngurl, I always have aspirin with cafeïne with me, and it really helps when I feel a 'normal' migraine coming up, it has been the best thing for me. Didn't do anything this time...

Desperate5diagnosis,

it is indeed very difficult to describe. Husband didn't understand very well. He was trying to talk with me throughout the day, but I told him that he needed to be quiet. I had my earplugs in and his voice still cut through my brains. The poor guy is earning his stripes...

I did some thinking about last week, it was pretty stressful. 

I slept about 5 hours in a total of 4 days (trying to sleep without Clonazepam, but no luck at all).

I had a dr's appointment that went really bad on Thursday, I was pretty upset about it. Still am. My dr was in such a bad mood, he didn't communicate with me at all, was out of his office after only 5 mins.

Bussy at work, I had planned to work from home on Friday, but that didn't happen. The auras were coming and going for 2 days, I should have felt it coming...

Tickled  :-)  , I think the weather had a part in it too. We had a huge thunderstorm on Saturday (yes, in the middle of the winter, the weather has been acting crazy), so a lot of tension in the air, and very damp.

I'm better today, the worst part is over, but still having problems finding my words, not concentrated at all, slurry speach too. I talk like a drunk woman, but very glad it's better!

I wouldn't do the coffee enemas for now. The caffeine from the coffee enemas does kick my butt, and caffeine is terrible for migraines. Lugol's iodine enemas are good for getting rid of stuff too.

Maybe avoid chocolate just for two weeks to see if it helps?

If you can't find Feverfew, let me know, but I'm really, really sorry that you had to go through this, especially if your doc was a shxx###d. Is he normally like this?

My speech gets slurred at times as well, and migraines exacerbate all my symptoms, so I get very wacky.

Can you sleep now, or are you still having headaches?

I'm staying off the chocolate for now, don't want to tempt fate... don't eat it often though.

My llmd isn't the most communicative person, very intelligent but his social skills are not always ok. This time was bad, felt like an actual wall between us. Don't want to see him for a while. Too angry now.

The headache is not gone but bearable, it actually never does go away sad huge patience test...
I slept 1,5 hours last night, I think I'll need to take the clonazepam tonight. And find myself a new gp who is willing to actually use his/her brain cause I'm seeing my llmd in 3 months. My last cortisol test was really high but it was a blood test, need the saliva test.
I need to go on Ashwahanda again...

Oh sweetie,

I'm so sorry. That sucks; it absolutely sucks!

I heard the same thing about the guy your llmd sees in California. I can't remember his name, but that's why I didn't investigate the CA llmd. It's too far anyway, plus he got into serious trouble for giving allicin (garlic) ivs. I may have mentioned that to you. That does sound risky.

If you're interested in the Feverfew, I can send you some (we can email). Either that, or you could try xxxherb, which sends to Europe. (Email!)

My llmd psychiatrist gives me Restoril for sleep, and that works pretty well, and then for depression, I take tiny amounts of Valerian during the day, along with usual antidepressants. I also take a little bit of melatonin about 8:00. Clonazepam is addictive, but then, it has to be better than what you're experiencing.

Have you talked to a gp or neurologist about your headaches? My neurologist gave me Botoxin injections for my migraines, but they were horrible. I don't recommend that at all, and it didn't help.

I tried Ashwaganda tea, and it worked well, but Valerian works just as well. Just don't take them at the same time as the clonazepam!!

I can't believe the headache isn't gone yet! Holy Mer--! Is your hubby at all helpful? He needs to massage your neck!

I'd recommend go off all caffeine, chocolate, cheese, and mushrooms. Unfortunately, for you, you need to keep taking probiotics, but maybe don't take prebiotics or eat yogurt.

Are you drinking ginger tea with honey? You need fresh ginger root. And perhaps use a ginger compress (with Epsom salts) on your head and neck. It's pretty potent as an anti-inflammatory. Also, are you taking the baths, and adding ginger? Put your head in the water. The ginger even helps my perpetual eczema.

Enough advice already. What's with the cortisol? That's a bit strange.
