Hello. My name is Thomas. I live in central Europe, english is my second language, so I'm sorry for any language errors or mistakes.
Ok.
It's first time I share this information with public.
I've been very sick from Lyme Disease, I had neuroborreliosis, temporal lobe seizures, psychiatric disorders, 3 years non-stop headaches etc...
I was on antibiotics for about 3 years, the treatment helped very much but some symptoms persisted, especially obsessive compuslive disroder was getting bad (cleaning, praying etc) it was almost psychotic, complete loss of reality and antibiotics did not work for this anymore.
I've started using two new drugs:
first: St. John's Wort - for my depression, I've used it for 4 weeks without much more improvmpent in OCD (but helped for depression),
second, after 4 weeks of taking st. johns wort, I added Alpha Lipoid Acid (600 mg a day), because I've read that it helps stabilize blood brain barrier (which is severely damaged in neuroborreliosis), blood brain barrier is very important "device" to prevent unwanted particles to enter your brain... So I started using this two drugs, and suprisingly after 3 days after adding alpha lipoic acid I was getting better from OCD!
Now, after about month of taking Alpha Lipoic Acid (and 8th week of St. Johns' Wort) I'm almost free from OCD, I don't care of any dirt, don't compulsivly pray, I really don't care.
For me it's like miracle, I was struggling with OCD for 3 years...
Don't know which worked for me, St. John's Wort or Alpha Lipoic Acid or both.
dosages:
- St. Johns wort: 3x300 mg a day
- Alpha Lipoic Acid 1x600 mg a day (there's a trial where patients with Multiple Sclerosis are give 2x600 mg a day)
Please read about Alpha Lipoic Acid, its role in stabilizing blood brain barrier and it's effects on MS.
I'd like to hear your experiences with those two drugs.
greetings
Thomas
