Hi all, I am fairly new to this forum, but have been reading lots of great info here. I tested positive on 3 strands by Igenex for IgG, and have an appointment with an LLMD in 4 weeks(not covered by insurance). In the meantime, I went to see an infectious disease doctor(covered by insurance) just to see if she would look at my Igenex lab results. She really didn't give them much of a glance, but she is willing to treat me with IV antibiotics, if........ her blood test comes back positive. She ordered a PCR DNA blood test for Lyme, and I would be thrilled if it came back positive because I could have treatment covered by insurance! What is the difference from this test than the one done by Igenex? What are the incidences of a false negative? Does anyone have experience with this testing? I'm just hoping it will result in my favor. I'm fairly certain I have Lyme, and I would love not to have to second guess myself all the time. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
