Got some results back, I would like some help interpreting.

Now I didn't get my tests done from Igenex, so I know more standard blood test miss like half the the cases. Basically, I felt I would get two standard test done to see if there was any abnormalities and start from there.

Basically, the first test I had done was the total IgG IgM Responses. The number for these is as following.. Index is 0.00 - 0.90 , Negative is <0.91, equivocal is 0.91-1.09 and positive is >1.09 ... Both my Igg and Igm came back at 0.91 which I think is negative.

The next test I got done is the western blot test. This is the test that gave me some suspicion.

For my IGG western blot the tested bands, 18, 23, 28, 30, 39, 41, 45,58, 66 and 93. They require 5 of these to be abnormal to be a positive and mine came back all absent.

My Igm Wester blot is what's making me raise some questions. They only tested three bands, 41, 39, and 23, and only require two for it to be positive. Two of them came back absent, but my band 41 came back present/abnormal, which means If one more was present I would be positive for lyme.

Between my being one band away from a positive, all the symptoms I've been showing in thread that I linked above, and these tests missing half the cases. Do you guys think I probably have lyme? Maybe something else that's similar. Where do I go from here?? I'm confused

What Razzle said plus I just want to add that there's an excellent chance (and I mean excellent) that if/when you test through IGeneX that you'll show more bands. That's what happened with me in a big way and my first test was with a supposed specialty lab.

Ok, so as you guys are saying. I know you can't diagnose me, but only a doctor can do that, but it seems like there's a very strong chance I have it, more likely than not right?

I looked up Equivocal online, but I don't understand what it means in a test.

Also where can I find a llmd near Savannah Georgia? I made a thread a days ago, and didn't get one response.

Ok thank you so much. Based on my results here, the fact that I have like 75 percent of the symptoms listed in the start here thread, and the fact doctors can't figure out what's wrong with me probably indicates I have a really good chance of having it.

I went ahead and bumped my llmd thread and sent an email to that site. Thanks again.

My son is seeing an llmd, but b/c my husband doesn't trust dr.s he doesn't know well, he wanted us to see our regular pediatrician too and so we did, as a second opinion.

My son had only 41 ++ on IgG and 39 IND on IgG.
Our pediatrician, while great isn't lyme literate, I wish he was!, anyway, he looked at son's Western blot and ran them by an Infectious Disease Dr. and the ID Dr. said that the results were "concerning" and although not officially positive that since he had the 41 positive and symptoms that we should definitely treat. Our pediatrician then would have prescribed an antibiotic, but my son already had one (from a few days earlier) from the llmd, b/c again, this pediatrician was second opinion for my husband (and to let the pediatrician know about the lyme, b/c we like him and want him aware of sons situation.)

I bring it up, b/c maybe your regular would prescribe antibiotics at least for a few weeks before you get to an llmd, BUT others on here would know more than I do if that's the right idea, or if it's just better to wait, so the antibiotics can be run and not interrupted.

I really don't know. Sorry, to not have that advice, but just wanted to say your Dr. might prescribe for awhile if that was a way to go.

If you can get your doctor to give you some antibiotics it could help with your diagnosis. If you start to feel worse on the abx, that would mean that you are having a Herxheimer reaction, a sure sign of Lyme infection.

The problem with Lyme is that it suppresses the immune system. The tests being used now measure the antibodies present, but they are being suppressed. Taking antibiotics could help get a clearer test in addition to getting started on the road to recovery.

Do read the New to Lyme thread about detoxing, it can really help lessen your symptoms.
