Yes, Lyme Disease, and any chronic illness, will affect your sex life, and yes, it becomes much harder to achieve orgasm.
My problem was that when I was still with my ex-bf, after we had had sex, my body would ache all over the next day, just from the exertion. Does anyone else have that problem?
I started taking DHEA and Evening Primrose Oil, along with a progesterone spray (non-prescript
ion), just to help with energy, with hot flashes, and with sleep (because hormones affect everything in your body) and my libido did start coming back, although it's kind of useless, since I'm single! I can't do estrogen, because of my previous history of breast cancer, but I've heard that that helps as well.
When I was with my ex-bf, my gynecologist gave me a testosterone cream, which also helped a little.
I am in menopause as well (53 years old). I thought menopause was taking away my libido, but I think it has to do more with chronic illness.
I would talk to your ob-gyn. Perhaps try the DHEA or the testosterone cream. Both might cause a little growth of facial hair, but it's probably worth it, because you're married, and you want that kind of intimate connection with your hubby.
Hope it gets better,
Margaret
