Along with eliminating carbs, processed foods, and sugars…
There are some people who are sensitive to what are called
Nightshades. If you would happen to have sensitivity to these, it would help to
stay away from them. I thought that was my problem last year before I figured
out it was Lyme/co, and I stopped eating them for months. At first I felt
better, but then over time I started back with the inflammation and pain. So
now I know my issues aren’t from nightshades, but all from carbs, processed
foods and sugars.
Nightshades:
Tomatoes and
products like ketchup
Tomatillos
Potatoes (not
sweet) and all products... even french fries. Eggplant
Peppers (sweet
and hot: This includes bell peppers, jalapenos, habaneros, cayenne peppers and
paprika) Peppercorns are NOT in this list .
Goji Berries and Other Berries
Garden Huckleberries
Ground Cherries
Cape Gooseberries, but NOT
Normal Gooseberries nor Blueberries This can get tricky if you're going to try an elimination diet. There are so many items that have these in them, one really has to read ingredient lists if you eat processed foods. Be careful and check.
If this helps only one person feel better, that’s what
matters most.
