I'm one that was like that and still am. Bugs are bugs - I am very careful to use sprays and dress accordingly now - but I'm not real interested in being bit by any of them!! LOL! I'm just hyper vigilant about
ticks now. I still go through the deep woods with all their undergrowth and sit on the ground while I work in the garden. We had a bit of warmth hit last week for two days and I went out and mulched my strawberry plants.
Made me a happy camper!!
I have a male rat terrier that seems to keep getting Lyme disease & those bumps (only no color to them), but my female rat terrier and Jack Russel don't get Lyme or those bumps that stick around for a few months. Interestingly enough, he had a lot of trauma in his life too. He was attacked by a pack of large dogs and left for dead. When animal control was called, they went out to pick up a dead dog, only he moved! He had a severe concussion and his back leg was broke so badly that it's being held together by pins and screws. Now he seems to pick up those ticks with Lyme at least once a year - even though I take all the precautions that are available! So maybe animals are like people? Some have the immune system to fight it off better than others???
