Tests to check your vision if Lyme has impacted your eyesight

I recently started to read the book by Dr. David Jernigan. In it, he touches on how Lyme affects vision. He recommends two tests which I found online for free. If you have read his book, this will sound familiar to you.

Since eye & vision problems have been an issue for me since I was first infected (eye clots, flashers, floaters, blurred vision, contrast issues), I started to research more about it. Below I share with you two websites where you too can check your eye vision for free.

The first one will test your color and contrast sensitivity. I found out that my neuro symptoms have impacted how my eyes see contrast. I did poorly on this test. Here is the link:

The second test is just an Amsler Grid that you look at. This will test for macular degeneration. When I looked at this grid, my right eye sees some wavy lines, and worse of all, I see some light spots on the grid, indicating that my macula is degrading due to Lyme. here is the link:

I will continue to do these tests regularly to see if my vision gets worse or better over time. I hope it gets better. Also, I noticed that my right eye is more impacted than my left eye, which is not surprising since most of my symptoms are on my right side of the body.

Another way that Lyme has impacted my eyesight is in reading up close. I now cannot read closer than the length of my arm without my reading glasses.

A few months ago I took Bactrim for a month and soon after my reading vision began to improve. I could read things closer than normal without reading glasses. Unfortunately I switched antibiotics and now my vision has reverted back to how it was.
