Since it's getting warm I was just curious if there was a specific type of Sunscreen to be using with a Lyme diagnosis. I typically can't be out in the sun that long as it is because I'm a redhead (hence the ginger name :) but thought maybe you veterans had some tips!

I can tell you that you want one that will be effective against both UVA and UVB rays, but they aren't all created equal. Target's brand actually ranked best, followed by Walmart's brand.

Here you can look up different brands and see how they scored:

Do the health food store thing. Fewer chemicals.
Where are you? Can I join you?
Even though we're still having spells of freezing weather, the vet. told me that Feb. and March are high season for ticks, so watch out.

That sounds like our spring weather. A couple of days ago it was mostly sunny and 70. Yesterday it poured down rain and was probably around 50, but spring is here. The trilliums are in bloom, as are some other natives. Several spring bulbs are in bloom. Tree buds are swollen and about
to unfurl and other thing have leafed out. The mason bees are coming out of the nest, and colliding with anyone who was in their path. Yellow jackets are at work on a nest, which we need to remove soon! We used to have paper wasps there instead, but they just vanished one year and I haven't seen any since. I have no idea what happened to them since they had been here since we built this house. I like them around since they're mild mannered and they keep the garden pests down. Yellow jackets are a different story though. They do go after garden pests too, but they are cranky guys. They chased me a long way one year when I went over their ground nest for the 3rd time. I didn't know they were there. Once I realized it, I headed for the house, leaving the mower running since I wanted to get out of there quick and they chased me all the way to the front door, which is probably over 200 ft.
This had nothing to do with your question gingeranne, did it?? LOL! I just get in garden mode once things start growing.

Well...my yard could look better. If I could keep the deer and moles out, that would help. I have many unfinished projects that I hope to work on some this summer. I think every seed that hits the ground sprouts and we get a lot of weed seed blowing in, so that keeps me busy since I don't use herbicides. I have some ways to make it easier.
I'm glad you got a laugh out of my episode. Some followed me in the house, so as I was removing clothing since I knew some were in my pant legs, I yelled for my daughter to close off the room so she wouldn't get stung. She came just in time to see me stomping on my pant legs and said "mom, what ARE you doing?? She was probably around 9 or so. I only got stung a few times. I had just taken off my jacket before the 3rd time going across that area, so I got stung more because of that. Thankfully, I don't think my neighbors were walking by. I pay more attention when I'm mowing now. :) I thought they were pretty patient considering it was a noisy riding mower.

The paper wasps are back! I thought it was yellow jackets on the nest and my hubby was going to spray them, but decided to vacuum them up with the Rainbow vacuum instead and he noticed they were slimmer and then realized it was paper wasps. I'm excited because they're a big help in the garden and yellow jackets won't nest there when they're there. My hubby scooped them out of the water and I have a tub over them to block the wind, so we'll see if they go back.
I know you guys think I'm wacko! I don't blame you, but I know I like worm free broccoli and these guys do a great job of getting rid of them. I just have respect for other living things too and feel bad when I have to eradicate them. This is way off topic too, but I feel it's also good to talk about
other things once in a while to take our minds off our symptoms.

I will say I recently went down to the caribbean and I always burn so I figured no matter what I would come home looking like a lobster.
I've tried all kinds of sunscreen. 50 spf works but I still have to reapply a lot. Long story short I ended buying a natural product, Aubrey Organic Sunscreen 30 spf. I did not burn AT ALL down in the caribbean. I was amazed. Especially b/c I was on the beach for 5 hours a day which I never do. It was insane.
The sunscreen is a bit thick like a clay. Not water proof but even when I came out of the water I could still see it on my skin and decided most times not to reapply and I still wouldn't get burned. I would highly, highly recommend this product.
Its also eco-friendly which is originally why I got it because a lot of sunscreen is very harmful for fish/coral. I'm sure this isn't great for it but being organic it probably isn't as bad.

I was on Doxy the whole summer two years ago and kept getting sun poisoning no matter how much sunscreen I out on and covered up. It felt like my arms were set on fire!

For some of us, no matter how much sun screen we use, certain abx will increase sun sensitivity to the point that we burn quickly. It's best to stay out of the sun if you fall into this category. I did and I would have the backs of my hands/fingers burn while driving the car even though I had used sun screen and the windows are tinted.
