Well, theoretically plasmid DNA should not exist if there is not bacteria. Plasmids are little pieces of DNA that float around in the bacteria (so to speak).
It is much easier to test for plasmid DNA then genomic DNA - genomic DNA is....lets just go with finicky. I would agree that it would be a weak positive for that reason. The debate is how long can plasmid DNA survive outside of the cell - which I believe would not be very long. Days at best IMHO.
It is possible that many of your symptoms were a result of being infected with lyme...but not necessarily caused from the bacteria. For me, my adrenals were beat up after lyme. I improved a lot in treatment but I really needed a doctor to fix my adrenals - aside from the lyme issue. I was working with a naturopathic doctor that helped my lyme and to fix some of the issues - like my adrenals that came from lyme but would not be fixed from antibiotics.
For some it is adrenals, others it is thyroid or hormone related that could be causing many of your symptoms. Others have detox issues. Its a lot to learn but the more questions you ask and the more you research - you will be able to find an answer hopefully or a plan as to what is ailing you and needs to be corrected.
