2 weeks--when will I get better?

So I started the 3 abx and a probiotic and I am doing the detox
baths and watching my diet and drinking a lot of water. It has been 2 weeks and I am not feeling better more than a day or 2 then
crashing for a few...I am no better and maybe this is not LD. (I do
have positive Igenex test)

What else could it be? Or maybe I am taking the wrong meds?

Please help!

Hi Sueg,

The duration of Lyme treatment (and coinfections) is different for each person. I personally have not read many threads about people getting better after 2 weeks of treatment. Feeling better for 2 days is already an achievement after only 2 weeks of treatment. :-)
Try to keep in mind that each good day is a step forward.

How long have you been ill for?
Are you seeing a LLMD? He/She must have said you that it can take a while to get better? Is he/she communicating with you about the duration of treatment?
My dr is not even giving me a timeline, which he did with my sister, he gave her an idea of how long it will take. I'm just going day by day.
There are people on this forum that have gotten better after a few months of treatment, others need years. I myself am in my 20th month of treatment and had 3 good days last summer. That's what I'm looking forward to, getting more of those days. I'm waiting in patience.

You have a positive Igenex test, I presume you have a list of symptoms that go with LD? You are getting abx. This all indicates that you have LD.

It is normal to feel bad when taking abx. You are causing a die-off of spirochetes that make you feel sick.

The best thing that happened in my mind, was when I switched the button that controlls my patience... switching it to the highest level, meaning: go day by day, hour by hour if needed, you can not rush this. Our bodies are going through a real ordeal trying to get better.

Hold on, you will get better, but you will need patience too... (Oh, I hate that word...)

I started treatment Feb 4 when I went to see my LLMD I was in horrible
shape. I am on 3 abx now but I started slow one abx for a month and then I introduced the other 2 the next month by LLMD instructions. I am still struggling with my body adjusting. After I introduced the second abx I had a horrible herx stomach pain, fever, headaches, body rash, dizziness, my body just didn't feel right. Now I am almost 2 months in treatment and still don't feel completely fine. This disease is not easy you are going to have bad and good days, plus each person is different like MarieL said it is normal to feel bad when taking abx the die-off reaction will make you sick.

If your test was positive most likely you have it, don't waste any time
getting treatment.

For me it was about 5-6 months before I was functional. I am 8 months into it and still relapsing when withdrawing antibiotics. It is a long road but with treatment you should see steady progress. And I have friends who have in fact needed abx for 2 years.

I just get impatient and scared thinking that the meds should work
faster. But I have been sick for years before I was diagnosed, told
that all the aches and fatigue were Fibromyalgia.

And why do abx work quickly for other infections but not LD?

Just stick with it hard each and every day. You will get better, but it's going to take some time.. Don't lose hope, and know that this may take a while, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.. Also always communicate with your doctor, as the more you tell them, the better they can treat you :)

sueg the epsom salt baths helped me a lot. On days when I couldnt do much else I would just take a bath and try to relax. I think about 5-6 cups of salt works well. If you have been sick for years it could take a while to get better. Keep the faith.
