thanks everyone for the advice!
I would have jumped on here earlier to day thanks and ask another question, but haven't got to the computer until tonight.
I forgot to mention he did just start the omega 3 fish oil
and, I'll definitely look at getting some milk thistle. (I suppose the Natural Food Store could help me find a good one unless someone has a suggestion of a brand.)
the no/low sugar is hard. We don't have
cookies or things like that in our house, but it seems like so many days there are ways it sneaks in. We went to a friend's house for a dinner party yesterday and they had ice-cream for dessert, and then an hour later they got the smores stuff out at the fire pit. I was cringing inside, knowing I don't want him to have that stuff.
It's hard to say no; I have to learn to get better at that in those situations.
what about
fruit? should I limit fruit? he loves fruit and currently probably gets about
3-4 pieces a day (strawberries, orange, grapes, half an apple, some days a banana, but not always)
Is that too much?
Chapelle,
that's so wonderful that your kids are doing so much better!
Like I said, my little guy has been on abx for starting 7 weeks now, and I feel like he's making good progress, really good!
as far as how long he'll be on abx, I'm not sure.
the new dr. we went to last week said she thinks that a child with lyme, with symptoms for about
4-5 months or so before treatment was started, could be antibiotics for up to a year!
I know it's not long for a lyme patient in general, and maybe I'm wrong, but I've read that children recover quicker, and also, he isn't a chronic lyme patient (I mean someone who's suffered for years without treatment.) so I'm hoping it wouldn't be that long at all!
The fact that he seems to be doing better, significantly already, gives me hope that it maybe doesn't have to be that long.
I hope and pray that maybe this can be taken care of sooner than later!
and, I was going to ask about
herxing on another post. maybe I'll just ask here too (or instead), so my question/thought is:
is there typical herxing for children?
I read or heard somewhere once that children don't herx as badly, and with my son I'm finding that that may just be the case.
I don't know if I've seen him herx?
is a herx when they feel worse than they already would?
it seems to me that with him ever since the abx started it has never really been "worse" than before the abx. In the 7 weeks of treatment, I'd say there was improvement from day 2, but then still symptoms, regularly too,
and now with the new Rx (higher dose and addition of Azithromycin) I think he seems to be complaining even less.
thanks again for the advice!
