CD 57 Level Question

Doing some research again. Simple question -

Is a low level of CD 57 indicative of the severity of the infection or the length of the infection??
I googled it, but am not finding answers. I thought it was the severity, but I would like to be sure.
And does anyone know if antibiotics affect the test and how?

CD 57 is the severity. My whole immune system literally collapsed after catching this!

GOOD, thank you - bc every time I looked up CD57 and lyme - all that kept coming up were articles on "chronic lyme" so that scared me a bit!!

and its no wonder, bc I literally felt like I needed to check myself into the hospital right before I started treatment. you said you started treatment on your own - are you in the medical field? I was assuming you were a Dr or the sort, bc you are very knowledgeable!!!

Well I have a science degree so maybe that counts? I took lots of organic chemistry, biochem, physiology, pharmacology, lol all that stuff in university. But I have an engineering technology job now. I just researched as much as I could as fast as I can because I knew about how this illness can turn out! I was in research or die mode literally lol. Also Doctors weren't believing me so I had to treat myself somehow in the meantime.

I just typed my LLMD visit update.

its a bit sloppy, bc I am really tired, but I knew if I didn't type it tonight, I wouldn't get to it until after Easter!

Sometimes people have low cd57 and feel well and sometimes the low level does match up to feeling really ill. It is supposed to be indicative of the immune response. My sons was 48 last week, my last one was 50. I feel bad but I felt horrific when mine was 90 at one point so who knows?

CD 57 test is just another tool to help diagnosis. After one year of treatment I switch LLMDs, and the 2nd Dr did a CD-57, which helped confirm the initial diagnosis and need for continued treatment. I've seen no reason to re-test since then. But after I'm well I may re-test for the heck of it.

From what I read there are occasionally some discrepancies in the numbers, but in general, people with Lyme usually have low numbers. When they start recovering, the numbers usually start getting better. What was your CD57? Mine keeps coming back in the low 30's the past 1.5 years. No changes :((.

My doc is going to retest my CD57 each Month to monitor recovery. He said that if it continues to increase that means progress. He said mine has to move from 67 to 125 for remission. Apparently, if you CD57 is greater than 125 it means your immune system is equivalent to that of a healthy person and can do its own job to keep lyme at bay. He gave me a natural supplement for immune system support in addition to a switch in meds.

My daughter who is 17 cd57 came back at 14. I'm a little freaked out, but trying to read all I can here hoping to learn .

I was researching about CD57 as well this is what I found:

<20 severe illness
20-60 most common/chronic patient
>60 Lyme activity normal
>120 relapse not likely
>200 is normal

I'm not sure where I located this info at but it was online. In my brain fog I forgot to write down where I got it from.
