contagiousness of lyme question

I definitely did not have Lyme in any dormant state before this. I used to be able to binge drink 6-10 or more alcoholic drinks easily in one sitting on the weekends for years and years. Despite that I was still in perfect health and able to go work or do whatever in the week despite a 1 day hangover. Now I can not even tolerate 1 drink without getting very dizzy and disorientated. There is no other way for me to have caught this.

I know my body too well to know I did not have this before. I got it from a tear and I am certain. If it wasn't from her tear then it was from whatever the heck was on her hand. Maybe it was in cyst form right on her phone so Everytime she touched her phone it gets on her hands. I don't know. But the tear seems like the most likely occurrence.

These are not so fragile that they break and die outside of a host environment. Instead they encyst and wait until they get back into a host.

I am absolutely 100% positive with absolute certainty this was spread from meeting this person who had Lyme disease.

I am absolutely 100% certain!!!

1. There are no ticks where I live.
2. This happened in the middle of winter with snow and freezing cold.
3. I am not an outdoors person, I'm like a hermit and mostly stay in my home.
4. I goto work, I do not work outdoors.
5. I was 100% purely healthy before this occurance.
6. I could binge drink 6-10 drinks just and my last "binge" was just a few weeks before meeting this person. Again I tolerated it then besides a minor hangover. I used this point of drinking because Lyme does NOT let you drink much! People discover wow I am cheap drunk now.
7. My very first symptom was burning of the lips. This makes sense because this is where the infection started for me. This disease got on my lips to start. Then my next symptom my whole face went on fire. Now the disease spread to my facial nerve. Next my whole brain went on fire. Now the disease is in my brain.
8.My igenex test indicates a fairly recent exposure as well. Mycoplasma test "acute and recent" exposure.

Okay I am 99.9999999999% sure it came from her tear. That 0.000001% chance is maybe it and from her germs that were already on her hand or phone or her sneeze but I am pretty certain the tear makes more sense. Either way I am 100% certain I got Lyme disease from someone who was officially diagnosed with Lyme disease with igenex tests and untreated for Lyme.

All the more reason to get treated if you got the disease to prevent it from spreading.

Maybe I'm a bit bitter and depressed because I came off my anti-depressants on Sunday maybe that was a bad idea. Sorry I should be more cheerful.

Either way I caught Lyme disease from this woman I met who I knew from 8 years back and there wasn't even any intimate contact.

I also understand there are probably lots of variables too complex for most people to understand.
-is the person treated? If they are in remission or cured then I doubt they will be contagious.
-is the person treating? If the person is actively treating the disease then the transmission to another person is ALSO probably close to nothing.
-what is the health of the persons immune system? If their immune system was working maybe they would not spread it as the immune system would keep it at bay.
-what is the total load of bacteria in their system? Higher load of Lyme bacteria means they are more infectious.

See there are variables. It should be thought of to be about as contagious as hepatitis B. How about we consider that. Assuming they are not treating and their immune system is down.

Like I said I don't deny your story but I too have been healthy my whole life and suddenly after the passing of my cat became deathly ill. Never had a GI problem in my life and now i'm all screwed up. I was convinced 100% that I got sick from my cat, I mean it made perfect sense, that I picked up parasites or something as I took care of her in her final hours. She died suddenly and mysteriously and stopped eating lost tons of weight. But I think no, it was the stress of the situation in addition to the stress of another friend dying the same weekend as my cat.

My neighbor outside working on his lawn like 15 hours a day and is constantly bringing debris down into the woods in the back that is filled with ticks. We have about 300 acres of conservation land behind or houses. I could argue why doesn't he have it and I do. I don't like being outside that much either. But my daughter picked up a tick walking from our car in the driveway to the front door. Literally all it takes is brushing up a blade of grass.

My roommate in college had lyme disease. That was 20 years ago. My sons best friend in preschool presented with a stroke. He was 4-5 yrs old at the time. Turns out it palsy and was from lyme. He go treated and is doing well now almost 5 years later. You could argue that he would have infected an entire preschool full of kids with very weak immune systems and that were constantly sick.

One of our old neighbors has a son with a dysfunctional liver and is on a transplant list. He has zero immune system. His father has lyme disease and you would think that his son would pick it up from him if he is that immuno-compromised. But no.

I don't argue with you but I still think it could have already been in your system.

Lyme spirochetes are very common in nature. I think I also read they are commonly found in soil and most people have them and don't realize it. Maybe it doesn't cause as many problems versus getting bit by a tick.

If you truly caught it as fast as you did then the bacteria wouldn't have had time to multiply. They just wouldn't have, their cycle is way to slow. You said that you treated within days. And you wouldn't have had any co-infections that come from the blood so from a science standpoint, you should be more mild than everyone else, especially if you were totally healthy to start.

I don't doubt it that it can be passed in tears. It makes sense if it can go anywhere in your body. I don't disagree.

But since you are still sick then I think you have something else going on that you need to consider like a previous exposure that was reactivated.

Maybe if you just had lyme, but bartonella is transmitted via blood, similar to babs. I would argue there is no way you got bartonella from a tear..

It would mean every dog and cat infected would transmit it from licking but that is not the case, it has to go directly into you blood stream from a bite of an infected animal, or bug that makes contact with your blood. It's a blood vector pathogen.
