So, I've been having lots of balance/dizzy issues, and lately a weird muffled noise in my left ear. If something gets banged on the table, I get a muffled noise in that ear. Well, this morning after I made my son breakfast I sat down to read the news on my phone, and all the letters looked weird.

I then experienced this waviness from my left peripheral vision. Nothing was really blurry, but there were wavy lines in the entire left part of my vision. I was seriously trying not to freak out. I had an Alka Seltzer Gold, and now its gone. Back to normal.

I went to an ENT before my Lyme treatment, as well as an optomologist, and I've had a brain MRI, all of which were fine, so I think it is definitely the Lyme, but I swear that for about 15 minutes I feared I was going blind in my left eye

Has this happened to anyone?

Could it have been a herx?

I should add that before treatment, I noticed some squiggly, bouncy vision here and there, but this episode was like x 100!

I think what you experienced was a migraine aura. I thought I was loosing my sight first time it happened to me. I was sooo scared.

If this is it, and you feel it coming, and you are driving, please pull over and wait for it to pass by. It's very dangerous.

In my case, it lasts about 30-45mins.

Hi, MarieLS.

I do wonder if it from migraine. I watched the videos- thank you for posting. It did not look like the second one- no rainbow colors- it was more like the first one, where everything was wavy. Can it be a migraine even without a headache? I have a massive headache right now- been getting them the last week kind of often.

I am sooo glad I was not driving. I haven't been driving in awhile, anyway, because of my dizziness :(

I've had them in different forms. First time, everything was wavy, I could just see clear through a tunnel in front of me, then I got blurry spots, that became wavy on one side of the spots, now I sometimes get the colors, but not always.

It's very specific that while having the visual migraine, you don't get a headache. I got them the day after in the beginning, now it's the same day, but after the visual stuff.

I had a visual migraine once. It was during my mother's doctor appt. and I was with her during it. It was stressful getting her there since she had to use a driving service since she was in a wheel chair and they were a little late in picking her up. The doctor keeps a tight schedule, so I didn't want her to miss part of it. I was with her during her appt. and was just sitting there listening to him when my eyes started to bother me, but I thought it was just the car windows reflecting sunlight into the room until all of a sudden, I only saw 1/2 of my doctor's face. It didn't last long and I haven't had one since, so stress brought it on. It was scary. Thank goodness we used the ride service!

Oh wow, GardenPeace.

That sounds awful! This is pretty much what happened to me! When I looked at words on paper, it looked like only some of therm were there, and the rest were missing letters. I seriously would have had a panic attack if this happened while out, and especially if I was trying to help someone at a doctor appointment!

I was glad I didn't have to drive. I rode along with the ride service. He's my doctor too and he scolded me when he heard what had happened. I told him my mom needed him more and I didn't want to take time away from her appt. It had cleared up a short time after it started and that was the end of it...until I got home and my hubby insisted on taking me in to have my eyes checked. I finally gave in and that's where I learned about eye migraines. It was mostly, if not all, stress related. It was during the time when my mother was in a care home and it was a stressful 3 years. I can feel them trying to start coming on, so I focus on relaxing the muscles around my eyes and that helps. I'll sometimes massage the muscles around my eye socket too.
