Has anyone tried this? I'm considering looking into it. The only relaxing thing I've done besides baths has been a massage which obviously was amazing but I'm wondering how many lymies use acupuncture with visible results. For some reason I have it in my head that this has made some people herx? Maybe I have just made that up because I'm always researching this lovely friend of ours called Lyme.

Acupuncture, like homeopathy, works to balance your system and help your immune system, so it's possible you could feel worse from it. Let us know how it works for you if you decided to do it.

I thought it helped me though I only did 3 sessions. I would like to go back. :)

I've been doing weekly acupuncture treatments for the past 3 weeks. My acupuncturist assured me it's not going to cure Lyme disease (obviously) and not to expect a miracle.
That being said, I have been loving the treatments!!
Acupuncture can help some of the symptoms such as tingling numbness, pain, depression, tendonitis, etc..it also helps to facilitate the flow of energy or Qi.
During the treatment I can literally feel my body responding. I find it to be extremely relaxing and theraputic. It's definitely worth a shot!! Try it out, see what you think. It's not "pointless" lol :)

Good one Joeyp.
I often feel a slight pain in some of the needle
locations, but I think it's working in those areas more.

I used acupuncture extensively during my healing and wouldn't have made it without it!! Nothing else could help with my pain, intestinal cramps/spasms and it helped tremendously with all the nerve issues, brain fog (eventually) and more.
It
could
be part of what causes a herx due to it increasing circulation, or increasing the immune system or helping to release toxins in some other way, but I kind of doubt it.
With that being said though, I know when I first started receiving acupuncture and all I was doing was detoxing and finding ways to bring all of my body functions/systems up, I was completely exhausted that day - but I had to travel 1 1/2 hours each way to my appt and they were only every two weeks so that may have had something to do with it.
I would encourage you to find someone with
tons
of training and experience though!!! It takes a great deal of intuition to be good at acupuncture!
