I think it's mostly about sweating which is why sauna's are so good. The FIR sauna's are good because the heat penetrates deep into your body and to me, it doesn't feel as hot as a normal sauna.
A lot of people cannot handle heat when they have Lyme. In my FIR sauna, I'll have it set to 150 degrees and it doesn't feel nearly that hot and then I'll touch my body and it's covered in sweat!
So I think anything that will make you sweat is a good detox but some just cannot handle direct heat like that. I would start off with only a few minutes of it and see how you feel.
