Lyme Confirmation???

Hi!
My brother recently had the lyme testing done from California. We live in Canada. His results read as followed:

IGENEX IGM Result. Positive
CDC/NYS result. Positive
18 kDa. + +
23-25 kDa IND
28 kDa. -
30 kDa. -
31 kDa. + +
34 kDa. +
39 kDa. + +
41 kDa. + +
45 kDa. -
58 kDa. -
66 kDa. -
83-93 kDa. IND

He's seen 1 doctor that thinks he has Lyme disease. However, our family doctor refuses to treat him because he doesn't think he has Lyme disease. The ELIZA test came back negative.
I am wondering from your experiences and looking at his results, what your thoughts are?

Hi Faith,

Welcome to the forum! That is a positive test, by all accounts. These tests are specific to antibodies - as in highly specific markers. There are a few ND's that will treat lyme disease in Canada. Please start a new thread Looking for LLMD/ ND in Canada and I'm hoping some will have suggestions for you.

I know many canadians unfortunately that have to come to the US for treatment but hopefully you won't have to do that.

Unfortunately doctors in Canada will not treat unless they have a positive ELIZA which only picks up about 50%. They will only give 3 weeks of antibiotics when they do treat! Even dogs in Canada get 30 days when they are diagnosed. I can't comment on the testing since I didn't bother to have it done. My doctor told me that everyone tests positive through Igenex and he wouldn't give me any more than the 3 weeks he gave me anyway. I have a clinical diagnosis from a LLND.

Everybody doesn't test positive through IGeneX, I tested negative for lyme and co-infections. After a year my new LLMD run a test through LabCorp the lyme test was still negative but the co-infection was positive.
