Treatment now or after vacation trip?

Hello everyone,

I will be seeing my LLMD for the first time this week, and I assume he will prescribe abx. about 4 days after this, I also leave to NYC for 1 week.

My question is: should I leave treatment until after this trip, or should I take treatment DURING the trip? I just worry about excessive side effects that I won't be able to take care of since I am away from home.

However, I will say that my symptoms are very mild with joint pain, stiff neck, blurry vision.. This makes me think my herx reactions will also be mild.

At the same time, I don't want the disease to spread in such an early stage. Tough decision... What would you do?

EDIT: I have had symptoms for 4 months now.

Umm you might want to start a moderated dose of the abx til you return. A smaller of dose of doxycycline for example helped me with my symptoms immediately. Also you can discuss this with your doctor but my llmd let me work up to an optimal dose.

It is a hard choice and you never know how you'll do once you start taking the med. If you can't do any detoxing while you're away, you could feel worse from the die off toxins. I don't know how quickly that would happen though. I thought BarnGurl had a good idea. Talk to your doctor about your concerns and see what he says.

See what your LLMD says. I was kind of in the same boat as you. Although I wouldn't advise it for everyone, I did a juice and raw food cleanse for a week leading up to my Abx which had me feeling great.
I think it allowed my body to have cleaner slate when starting treatment
