igenex interpretations help please

me again. Trying to use some of the knowledge on this board to help me understand what is going on with me. Please help if you can.

There is a part of my mind that wonders if I even have lyme or if I am simply needlessly harming my body with all these antibiotics! I have said my situation many times on here but here it is again- plus I want to again post my igenex results. What I am seeking is- do I 100% have lyme?

Again, finally I am gonna try again for this infectolab test which can actually tell for certain if I have an active infection or not- I will get it Monday and know in three weeks and meanwhile continue treatment while I wait.

But I am trying to piece this together, so please help interpret this for me! I did get positive cdc and igenex results on both the igg and igm, but I am still so unclear about it all.

History- 20 yrs ago I had a lyme rash- treated it with short term antibiotics- and never thought of it again until this year! And I was perfectly healthy all these years.

The only illness I had in those years was periodontal disease caused by neglect and other things- which has since then been resolved and while I had some bone loss etc from it I now get very regular dental cleanings and have no active periodontal infection.

So the igg may be picking up on the lyme I had over 20 years ago?

But I guess if the igm is positive that means I have it?

here are my results- I will just list which ones are positive and ind, and assume the others are negative.

My doctor seemed to think this was undoubtedly positive and worth going on massive antibiotics for.

It is just that I never had anyjoint or muscle pain- only fatigue ( which can be cause by anything), anxiety (it has also been a stressful time for me lately for other reasons so that could be anything), and some ear issues now massively aggrevated since I started antibiotics.

Also- I never saw a tick ( I know many people don't), had a tiny bit mark with a tiny rash that went away in one day, and I got on doxy the night I saw the rash (for 10 days, 2 weeks off, 14 days cowden protocol followed by 12 days amoxi_ cowden).

I am just scared- scared more that I have lyme but also scared that I am seriously harming myself with these antibiotics. This is why I am so eager to get this german blood test to know for sure.

I never (thankfully) had any other symptoms and my gut feeling is that these antibiotics are giving me this tinnitus  and I am terrified about it being permanent. please advise. thanks

 

thanks. I know for sure the antibiotics are causing massive tinnitus. The question then is- are the antibiotics really the best way for me to treat the lyme. This is why I am going to try one more time for this german test so I can know more clearly what the state of my lyme is. My current doc says three months of antibiotcs followed by a few months of herbals. I right now keep telling myself it is worth it to stop the lyme. Because since I got the tick bite I did ten day antibiotics three times---- and then got so sick of them I stopped.  So I am trying to at least do the thirty days of antibiotics. ugh. I hate it and yeah the tricky thing is I feel that no doctor really knows how to deal with this so even though my doctor seems to know more than anyone else I have met about how to treat lyme, I am not sully sure. I met someone who put his lyme into full remission from one month of antibiotics followed byone year of the cowden protocol. I can deal with being uncomfortable from longer term antibiotics if the tinnitus goes away and my body heals.

It is a tough call because eI don't know what to do- three months of antibiotics? do you all think that sounds like the right thing to do?

Hi Kate - since you have had the Bulls eye rash, there is no doubt that you have Lyme, as that is the skin form of the disease. 3 rounds of abx at 10 days each is nowhere near enough treatment to take care of the infection. Knowledgeable Lyme doctors say 6 - 8 weeks when caught immediately and 2 months past the resolution of symptoms if later.

You also have quite a few disease specific positive bands on your test. These are (for your results):

These bands only show positive when the Lyme bacteria is in your blood. You have the infection (& symptoms), so you need effective treatment so that you don't end up with more serious health issues.

Co-infections often make Lyme disease harder to treat.

You don't have to use abx if you feel that they are not for you. I've sent you an email outlining the most common natural Lyme treatments.

Different people herx at different times during their treatments. It depends on many factors like toxin load, detoxing capabilities of the body, co-conditions, co-infections (bacterial, protozoan & viral) and more. It -just like the treatment for these infections - is very unique to each of us.
