Advice or info on Epstein Barr virus co-infection?

Hi all. Been battling debilitating exhaustion, and co-infections for RMSF and Lyme. A recent Lyme test showed the Lyme still present, but in reading my chart on line (I see the doctor on Monday) I saw this, a test run for Epstein Barr...it's showing that I had a value of 591. Can somebody shed some light on this? Thanks.

Not sure about the 591 value - I tested 'high' for EBV recently, too but don't have test in front of me.

My understanding is that most of the population carries the EBV but only a few of us ever have symptoms or become ill. The first time I came down with mono at age 15 I had no idea I had it. I got it again 3 more times in high school and have had it maybe 6 times since. I've read that my condition is called reactivated EBV, which means that the immune system is actively trying to fight off the virus - and I'm showing symptoms (extreme fatigue, some swollen glands, sore throat on/off). I also tested "positive" or "high" or "active" with a few other viruses. I'm on 3 different antivirals and after 10 wks I'm only starting to feel a little better.

If, after you start treating the viruses, you don't have relief from the fatigue you should have your adrenals checked. The infections can overtax your endocrine system as well and you won't get full relief if you are also experiencing adrenal fatigue/exhaustion.
